Canadian diplomats walk out on the Iranian president's speech to the UN General Assembly after a Foreign Affairs spokesman denounces Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's "hateful, anti-Western, anti-Semitic views."

If you had read the Canadian article - you would have had your answer

His speech was on CSPAN last night. I had thought his interpreter needed an interpreter, his accent was so thick. But on reading part of that transcript I see much more than a simple language interpreter was needed. It's one of those space to earth dialogs.

It should be noted that this guy is more akin to a figurehead who answers to the real powers in Iran rather than a supreme leader like the dictator of North Korea.

There's hateful, anti-Western, speakers at every UN meeting. The Canadian's usually don't walk out
The anti-Semitic part, I might be able to understand because of our laws regarding Holocaust denial to protect our Jewish folk.

While this may be true - the powers that are behind the throne would not allow him to make such statements if it did not align with their vision.

Nuclear weapons are a sin, says Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

/ Iran's supreme leader yesterday insisted his country was not seeking nuclear weapons, claiming that "holding these arms is a sin as well as useless, harmful and dangerous".

Depends on the topic I guess...
