full screen problem

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5005-S507 notebook computer. When I watch movies such as Divx, VCD, AVI the video is always stretched to take up the entire screen. I have tried every possible setting that I can think of. I have even posted the question on the Toshiba forum with no replies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is a friend of mine and he didn't give many details 😛

He has a 1ghz P3 laptops with a Geforce440Go .For some strange reason,at one point,he wanted to watch all his movie full screen(even though all the people take the form of cone heads🙂)
Anyways he called Toshiba and asked them how he could make all his widescreen movies---fullscreen.A tech there told him a way to do it up in the graphic card properties.Unfortunatly, the lovely people at Toshiba(or Shadowtech) can't remember where exactly that setting is in the properties.

Any help would be appreciated by him(or me because I don't want him to call me at work anymore complaining about it 😀 )
