I'm having a problem-
when i try running an old game that uses 640x480 resolution, my laptop monitor only uses like 1/2 the screen. is there any way i can use the lower resolution for the game, but have it show on the full monitor? like have it stretch or something?

thanks

You can't use lower resolutions at full screen because of the way LCD's work.

Even if you do, it will look very bad.

No - you can't "stretch" LCD pixels. They are fixed and finite. To get lower resolution than native - it has to add pixels together - that makes them larger and fewer, and equates to blocky, jaggy images.

Someday we need to simply shitcan old games and get new ones.

well, this depends on the LCD controller chip, my hercules LCD screen interpolates pixels to fill the screen, it doesnt look verygood, and somewhat blurry, but imho better than 640x480 pixels with black borders.
