Linkified straight to the board...

Kinda weird to support Dual Channel AND Single Channel DDR in one board.... It uses Dual Channel(128 bit) when you install 2 DIMMs.... and it has 3 DIMM slots :Q If you use 1 or 3 DIMMs it uses them as single channel (64 bit) It also uses AMD Hypertransport which is cool too. Who cares if THIS board is Micro ATX is shows us whats coming.

<< MSI? R&D team is well known for providing high quality products to PC users. MSI? today announced a motherboard which support AMD® Socket A Athlon? / Duron? processors- MS-6367. This is the first MSI? mainboard which supports the nVIDIA® nForce Platform Processing Architecture (IGP; Integrated Graphics Processor, MCP; Media and Communications Processor). The nVIDIA® nForce is a high-performance PC platform chipset with an which integrated nVIDIA® GeForce2 GPU. As for system expansion capability, the MS-6367 supports 3 DDR DIMM up to a maximum configuration of 1.5 GB.The most mentionable feature is when using 2 DDR, with 128-bit TwinBank Architecture; the bandwidth accommodates 4.2GB/s, which is twice faster than regular DDR platform. In addition, AMD®'s Hyper Transport delivers the highest continuous throughput between the IGP and MCP (800MB/s). The MCP is embedded with nVIDIA® APU (Audio Processing Unit), which generates high quality sound. In terms of expansion ability, 3 PCI/1 AGP/1 CNR expansion slot & Ethernet connectivity are all available on MS-6367.
The main features of the new MS-6367 include:

Supports Ultra ATA100 Specification:
Supports Ultra ATA100 specification for faster information transaction, which brings out entire system's full efficiency.

Live BIOS?:
An useful software tool from MSI?, Live BIOS? examines the BIOS version automatically with the latest version available on the web, links to the site for users to download the latest version of BIOS and updates the BIOS. With an "automatic and user-friendly" interface, Live BIOS? allows BIOS download and update to be completed under the OS easily.

Supports PC Alert? III:
This useful software detects system temperature, the status of voltage, fans and all other key components onboard. If any problem occurs, it will alert the user to correct the problem, reducing the risk of system damage.

Integrated Audio feature:
Supports nVIDIA® APU (Audio Processing Unit) and provides high quality sound and saving the cost for an additional add-in audio card.

Supports STR (Suspend to RAM):
The STR function would save system configuration data on to the system memory when the system is set into suspend mode. The system memory is sustained with the minimum electrical power to avoid data loss. When the system is reset back to full operation mode, the original configuration status is restored in just a few seconds.

PC 99 and PCI 2.2 Specification Compliant and Certified

mATX w/ onboard LAN, video and audio....

what do u expect...what the hell else are u gonna put in to use more than 3 PCI slots?

besides, i prefer mATX over ATX as long as the lay-out isn't compromised too severely...

board looks sweet...HDT, dual channel DDR, good onboard audio/video....

Ok flame baiter i wasnt going to reply to the first negative diatribe on my question of where was big brother but yours is totally asinine. I'll tell you really slowly because it might help you understand better, not everyone uses onboard video or audio, get a clue. This board is great for OEM box makers which i am not, i would much rather have the ability to pop in a raid card , a sound card or any other card for that matter that i choose. Most of the time slot one is of no use becuase of agp cards getting in the way,or should i just buy this thing and then 6 months down the road when its onboard sound or video are obsolete i'm screwed? 3 pci slots is not suffecient for most people who frequent this forum. If on the other hand youd like to buy a gateway or compaq and never look inside for fear of going blind then by all means drool and buy it. I and others on the other hand want the option of more slots for future expandability. There is no way in hell nvidia will get me to upgrade motherboards every 6 months just to have the latest and greatest. Please refrain from crapping on other peoples posts, show a slight modicum of respect for others here that would like to kindly voice their opinion.

Nortexoid, just curious but why do you prefer mATX? Is it because you have a better choice of cases?

I want a nice little case that's portable to a degree. Full ATX cases, desktop OR tower are generally too large to lug around on the bus.
Almost 30 and no car... how embarassing. Then again, it's EXPENSIVE to drive! :Q:eek:

I can't wait for a motherboard that uses this chipset that comes with 6 PCI slots! That will be my dream motherboard. :)

5 to 6 pci slots would be absolutely great for a home box. Ive been waiting for a vialess motherboard which packed performance along with stability, maybe just maybe this offering from nvidia will do it. Now lets get some boards out to the reviewers and see what this thing can do.
Here's a sick thought, anyone think radeons will run into quirky problems on nvidia boards? :D

That reminds me of when I bought a video card using the Intel I740 chipset, and it would not work on my AMD K6 233. As far as I know no-one ever got an I740 to work with an AMD chip.

Definitely a HUGE market for this board. Maybe not for tweakers like Dolphin but the OEM market is where the volume is anyway.
I'm axious to see the benchmarks for Video. If they come in good then anyone but serious gamers can use this board.
I'm sure there will be more boards with more slots so the Dolphins can have their cake and eat a touchdown.

even for "tweakers" who aren't on the cutting edge this may not be such a bad board. A lot of people here are using a GPU less poweful than a Geforce2 MX. Also, who upgrades their sound card every 6 months, as another poster was saying? Many ppl have had Soundblaster Live's for a couple of years with no intention of replacing them....having onboard NIC will be nice for cable modems and DSL.

Maybe i'm not "hardcore" enough, but this board would be fine for me...in my PCI slots I have a soundcard, a network card, a modem, an IDE-RAID card, and a Win-TV card. I could move the last three cards over to this board and get rid of the sound card and NIC :). I can't think of anything else that I could use a PCI slot for...

dolphin, so what u're really saying is that u're a complete idiot?...

i don't give a sh1t if u like to pop in your own video/audio/LAN/etc. PCI cards...the chipset is meant to offer an integrated solution...

what u're saying is that u're gonna buy a board based on this chipset, with everything integrated (as it's intended to be) and then pop in your own video, LAN, and audio and disable on the onbard stuff...

now, that's a brilliant idea...have a cookie.

and what's this: 3 pci slots aren't enough for blah blah...

i'm sure it is, assuming they're using an AGP video and integrated LAN...even assuming not using integrated LAN...

i.e. 1 decoder card, 1 audio card, 1 anything else...and this is assumign u don't use the already good onboard audio.

let's have sex.

nort chillout because you cant see the forest for the trees. As for the sex if your wearing a skirt and i've had enough to drink maybe just maybe.........

Heres my original post seeing as how you are totally clueless as to my position on this :

"It looks like a micro atx with 3 pci slots, um no thanks , where is the big brother?"

Now if you have a problem with that statement TOUGH! Or have you become the f-ing thought police on this or worse yet an nvidia drone. My point was it was micro atx and 3 pci slots and i was more interested in a big brother version with more pci slots. Wheres the harm in that? As for onboard stuff don't you think the price is going to be commensurate with the product?, if you like it great but how many here actually have boards with onboard sound, modems, raid, whatever and have them disabled for add in cards? What do people do with all of their add in cards that theyve spent money on stick em in your peace pipe and smoke em? If you want to make it personal go ahead, i can dish it as well as you can.

dish what out...cyber-trash-talk?...big deal.

u say u're looking for a "big brother" w/ more PCI slots - i say good luck...the board is designed for mATX - analogous to the KM133 and sis 730S chipset based boards...

tell me if u can find one (let alone many) KM133 ATX boards...probably not.

to sum it up, this is what u're asking for: I want a full sized ATX micro ATX board.

nvidia drone?...that's humorous - i actually can't stand nvidia that much...go look up the rests of my posts for the day and confirm that.

(btw, i do wear a skirt)

i'm sure it is, assuming they're using an AGP video and integrated LAN...even assuming not using integrated LAN...

Your also assuming of course that none of these slots in anyway shape or form share with anything else slowing down performance or creating conflicts, big stretch that one. Folks start your engines its time for the pci slot shuffle no wait there arent any to do so oh well. This is again as i've previously stated great for oem's or anyone else not interested in tweaking or genrally messing around with their boxes, fine so be it. But this isnt the flavor of the month for everyone.

Round and round we go where it stops nobody knows. Have you read any of my posts or are you just wanting to crap all over everything. I want a vialess ATX board with 5 or 6 pci slots and if someone can produce it with this chipset i'm interested.
