Full Radeon 32mb DDR OEM 80$ (Changed, now Radeon LE)

Ok, I ordered a radeon from www.upgradeplanet.com, it made no reference to being an LE. I just recieved it, I have yet to set it up in a machine, but it shows all the typical signs of being a full radeon, active HSF, labled "Radeon 32mb DDR" etc. This is the OEM version, not the retail, so its lower clocked, but it is still a really good deal at 82$.

I'd probably spend the extra dollar and get the Radeon LE with TV-Out shipped for $93 from NewEgg (unless the upgradeplanet version has TV-Out as well).

Yes, it has a fan (Read above HSF means Heatsink fan), as I understand it the VE has a dual head like function, with a TV adapter for one of the heads. I have seen radeon LEs with video out. The LE runs slower then the OEM radeon doesnt it? 143 for le, 166 for oem, correct? Yeah, I guess with 10$ shipping added in its 90$, rarely post, so I dunno the way you prefer to phrase these things.

Could you post up as many of the markings on the board as possible ? and also maybe what shows up inwindows and/or bios for identity strings .. Thanks

For those of you curious about the message, I'll translate - "I wish I were a moderator, but I don't know when threads are supposed to be locked and I like making people's page load slower with useless smiley faces."

so is the LE version with tv out better than the VE version, but how's their tv out??? i read the VE review on anandtech so i know how it performs but how bout the LE version is there any difference??

I'm betting its the same Tv-Out used on the Ve, cus that wouldn't make much sense to use two different technologies, and hence two different manufacturing processes on an almost identical card....but then again, ATI's does some crazy stuff over the years....

Ok, none of the ATI drivers are working on this card, in really small type on the upgrade planet barcode on the back of the card, it says "A-RADSDR32-OEM, I am calling them tommorow to return this thing, I have a downloaded copy of the webpage in case anyone would like it to prove that the card they ordered is not the one they got. I also have the shipping invoice as hard evidence, in case anyone want's me to scan it in. The SDR is even worse then the LE, good thing they are in the local area, if nothing else works, I can get law enforcement involved or something.

diffusion, are u sure the SDR version is worst than the LE? At least HyperZ is already enabled for everything in the SDR version. My experience with the LE is that even when I enable everything by tweaking, hardly any improvement was gained.

The SDR is definatly worse then the LE, the LE is a standard radeon ddr oem with hyperz turned off, you can reenable hyperz, thus resulting in a standard radeon, this really pisses me off, if they dont replace it with the correct card, I think I might leave negative feedback in a number of places.

good deal but ill stick with my ULTRA radeon has good 32 bit for sure though man. This card would be good in a lower end DuRon system

Yes,
The Radeon DDR LE will KILL an SDR Radeon because the SDR simply doesn't have the bandwidth. Once you enable the hyper-z in direct3d, it will beat it fairly well.
