Three shows in and to me samantha bee has picked up right where jon Stuart left off. She's digging into issues and getting down to details whereas I think the current daily show has been doing really shallow bits.

If you liked the daily show but miss Stuarts insight then check it out, it's on tbs, Fridays.

Full Frontal with Sam Bee, Last week tonight with John Oliver. They pick up where the Daily Show left off. The new Daily Show with Trevor Noah is weird cuz its like he is pretending to be John Stewart. He uses the same type of jokes and inflection and way of speaking as John Stewart and I have seen Trevor Noah's stand up and he isnt normally like that. Although his stand up is funny.

And Sp33Demon doesnt like it so you know its great. hehe. ;) ():)

Its almost like Trevor Noah is trying to do a hybrid of the daily show and Tosh.0

I'm liking Sam Bee the more I see her actually, but she and her crew have a way to go to get parity with Oliver's show, which has really been firing on all cylinders. Oliver has been delivering Stewart-grade smack downs with regularity, I think he's become the Daily Show's true scion.

Full Frontal's take on the Girl Scouts/Catholic church was great! I applaud anyone who takes a minute to ask, 'Wait, why exactly do we care what these child-abusing fucktards think about women's rights and rearing children? Who the hell do these assholes think they are?'

Well agreed that Samantha's good and getting better, but that John Oliver is the present gold standard. His relentless, laser-focused rants are amazing, both as comedy gold and as muck-raking political journalism.

I also agree that Trevor Noah's stand-up is better than his hosting of The Daily Show. I just can't much warm him on TDS.

Finally, Larry Wilmore's show might be better as a once a week, rather than 5 times a week. I'm not a huge fan of his D list guest contributors.

As Stewie Griffin would say "Spot on, spot on." ^ :D

I don't care what kind of label you and others feel the need to give them; as long as they expose issues like the ones I just cited and can craft a joke while doing so, well...as many as the market can sustain :)

Damn progressives and their damn hating child molesters. Probably always on the lawn too, huh?

I hoped so but she's even more of a liberal shill than Colbert. Turned off and never watching again.

Gotta strengthen the echo chamber...

I've basically dropped all those shows now, the smug narrative pushing gets tiresome once you see through their methods. Its lowest common denominator politically correct pseudo"edgy"comedy for reinforcing preexisting views.

How many are going to really call out Obama for pandering at a mosque?

Its just corporate media pretending to fight the system.

I was never a huge fan of her delivery. The same goes with her husband. They both made good segments, but the over-the-topness always kind of bugged me a little bit.

Does the Daily Show have the same writing staff? There may be a good reason Jon Stewart picked his pal as his replacement.

I really enjoyed controlled opposition show #39, but I think controlled opposition show #40 is going to be the bee's knees.

I'm with you on this, but the writing on her new show is top notch even if it is a bit too strident. However, it's more measured and civil and fact-based than the GOP Presidential debates, so there's that. ;)

As for the hubby, for my money he does over-the-top no more annoyingly than Will Ferrell, so . . .

We are a good ways from reaching saturation of those types of shows. As the conservative crazy grows exponentially higher, we will need an outlet from it all. Consider it the Buffet Rule for progressive infotainment.

No, not that Buffet. Jimmy Buffet:
With all of our running and all of our cunning,
If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane.

Seriously, we need this. Without Stewart, the Bush years would have been unbearable. Things have only gone further off the rails since 2010 and will continue for the foreseeable future.
