I lucked out for once. I just happened to be perusing the buy and sell at fredmiranda when I saw 5D for a great price. The seller said it had a scratch on the filter that sits over the sensor. He showed me some pics and he had said they did not show up. So he sold the camera for the average price of a used minus the cost to fix the sensor filter (about $450). So I snagged it. So far so good.

Just playing around with it today (weather here is crappy)...

Cairn Terrier. A little poop and peeing machine

Boring subject matter, but it was starting to rain on my new camera

These were shot with a 85mm @ f/1.2. Still learning how to use the lens properly.

Probably going to sell my 40D now... although I will miss the 6.5fps.

Congrats on the purchase. I've had my 5D almost a year now. I beat the hell out of it for five months in Tasmania, use it for work daily, and it still keeps going and going. Gotta love that 35mm sensor as well.

so does the scratch not show up? I figure that it would, being on the sensor filter.
I got my AF 80-200mm f/2.8 for cheap off eBay because it had a small scratch on the front element, which does not show up in photos.

No the scratch does not show up at all. Believe me, I looked over several shots before I sent paypal. The seller thought it had been there since the camera was new.
