Question Full Drive Encryption (self-encrypted, eDrive, Opal, ...)

How do I make sure a NVMe drive supports hardware encryption (not using the CPU), that can be used with Bitlocker on Windows?

I'm looking at the specs and I see that drives usually support either just "256bit AES" or "256bit AES, TCG opal 2.0". What is the difference between them?

I'm pretty sure BitLocker always uses the CPU for encryption and decryption.

No, it can use hardware encryption (SED) as well, but you need to enable this setting separately.
