Full Downloadable DS Games Coming to Wii

I like this idea. I can already see it being a very viable option for me, my family, and friends. A good example here is that we play a lot of Mario Kart DS in my house and I cannot tell you how many times we've had friends come over, not owning the game, and have had to run to the store real quick to pick up a copy so that they dont have to play the crippled (ghost copy via DS wireless) version. Instead, they could just connect to my Wii and DL it from the VC.

The DS will eventually be able to play ?complete? games that are downloaded via the Wii, according to a recent interview with Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime.
Speaking to the New York Times, Fils-Aime said that the DS would become increasingly integrated with its home console counterpart. Full games would reportedly be downloaded to the Wii, then transferred wirelessly to the DS.

Consumers will begin seeing the first signs of such integration in February, with the release of Level-5?s brain-teaser Professor Layton and the Curious Village. The game will be the first title in the US to allow gamers to download new content (in Professor Layton?s case, new puzzles) to the Wii for transfer to the DS. The DS has already been able to directly download short game demos, but not full games.

With Japan already using the DS in non-gaming capacities, such as a guide for museum tours, Fils-Aime also said that the US will eventually see similar uses for the handheld.

?To aggressively drive DS business we need to provide other forms of entertainment to excite the consumer,? said Fils-Aime.

I thought this was already news a few weeks back? It was just a matter of time when it made it stateside.

While it's a nice idea, I highly doubt they'll implement it in a way we like it. Look at online game play.. pathetic to say the least. Altho, I hear MOH2 changes that a bit.. and hopefully SSBB as well.

But look at the shopping channel.. why the hell does it take SO long to download anything?? And dammit nintendo, because it takes so long.. I don't want to redownload it when I run out of space because your solution is "delete and download again" Let me play off the damn SD card!!!
