If the Chinese declared war on the United States, would the U.S. be able to defeat them? Their military force is huge in comparison to the total population of the U.S.

<<<but why would they want to?>>>

I've just read some things about how there is tension between the two.

<<<What would they do? Walk across the Pacific?>>>

The Japanese managed to sneak up on the U.S.

on the other hand, it's about time the us invaded that crazy country called canada.

Yes but the Japanese had a decent blue water navy. Still it was an attack and not an assault. Even then the Japanese did not have enough littoral forces to launch an appeciable assult after the early days. The Battle of Guadalcanal proved they did not have the forced needed to move a substantial ammount of men and materiel and launch an assault. Any landing they attemped with any sort of organized resistance failed misserably (Midway, first Battle of Wake Island). China is less prepraped to land a force on Taiwan let alone undetetcted across the Pacific Ocean with US carrier battlegroups shaddowing their moves.

Land wars in Asia are a "no no" kids. :)

I'm also for invading Canada. No particular reason, I just feel it would be a fun thing to do.

I am waiting for the day that the world attacks the U.S. I am sure a lot of countries are tired of the United States trying to police the world...

I've just read some things about how there is tension between the two.

There are also billions and Billions dollars-worth of trades; and more coming here than going in. Why the hell would they want to do something this stupid at a time when unemplyment is rising in China? Why would they do something this stupid at all? They may not have a democracy, but they are not fscking stupid. But the single most deterrant is that they both have enough nukes and H-bombs to vaporize earth. Now you people understand why the balance is so crucial.

[i[China is less prepraped to land a force on Taiwan let alone undetetcted across the Pacific Ocean with US carrier battlegroups shaddowing their moves.[/i]

They still don't build their own carriers yet. They are trying to replicate the ones the Russia sold them. Technology-wise they are still many years behind. However if hypothetically the US was to invade the mailand, it would not be easy. China is perfecting its FM wave radar detection system that utilizes minor changes in TV broadcast waves when a stealth plane flies by. This would render every US stealth aircraft useless. The bottom line is, it won't be a lopsided victory for either side.

Well, the U.S. tends to stick its nose where it doesn't belong. I'm not saying it't wrong to help keep the peace. Some countries might see that as being arrogant.

China versus Taiwan is an internal affair. It's their own civil war. The US has no real right to interfere other than the fact that we want a military base right off the coast of mainland china to contain them.

Here is something I found to be interesting, I just learned from my Chinese friend that nowadays in China, if you call someone a comrade, you are in fact saying to that person that he/she is gay, pretty funny considering that there are over 20 million Chinese Communist Party members in China :D

hmm... is that why Germany and Japan are depilidated ruins while countrys such as France and Britan are on the top of the world and have astronomical economic growth???
Actually some guy wrote a thesis saying that, for world war II, in the long run countries who lost wars actually had better economys, something to do with them being forced to have small armies so they could use govt spending on more effecient things.

That was with the "Marshall Plan" (I may have gotten the name wrong). Basically it was massive American economic aid to both Japan and Europe. Ain't gonna happen for this reason. You also forgot why Germany fought WWII. Their economy was in ruins after the first one. That was why Hitler got elected. Do a little more research next time.

Actually some guy wrote a thesis saying that

And of Course, that makes it true.

In my terms as president, Joe Lieberman and I will strive to further good relations with China to ensure not only good feelings between the two countries, but also free trade and automated internet-based citizenship and voting rights for those Chinese that wish to become American citizens.
