I've had a fujitsu Lifebook and its the most solid laptop i've had, I was careless numerous times and dropped/pushed it onto the floor from a good distance and it hasnt even scratched. The only bad thing about mine is that the battery is dead and they only used that battery with my model so its expensive...

I am thinking about getting it before this deal ends. Trying to decide between this and the Sony models that are on huge sale at Amazon.

Best Buy is also giving additional $50 instant gift card with any P4 Laptop purchase. So, the Fujitsu will be 1249 and no tax in Delaware!

Any suggestions on Vaio's. I am looking at VX88, R505EL(both P3's), and XA53(Anthlon 1.3).

Amazon has $200 Gift cards with purchase of Computers over 1500. PLus SOny has $100 Mail in rebate and my recent Sony DigiCam purchase gets me another $50 frpm Sony and my E*Trade Visa gets another 5% cash back at Amazon.

Vaio prices at Amazon with ETrade Visa or even Amazon visa(you get GCs)

VX88 $1999 (Rebates $200GC, $100, $50(connect and create rebate), $100 cash back from ETrade Visa)=$1550
XA505 $1599(Rebates $200GC, $100, $50, $80) = $1170
R505EL $1699(Reabtes $200GC, $50, $85)=#1365 This has no $100 reabte from Sony

Looks like they are all great deals but not sure if Sony's are any good as I can't go beyond 512 on RAM(only 384 on few).

Thanks

Wow...This is hot...especially the VX88. Now I'm thinking of getting one.

Where do you see the $100 rebate for Sony laptops? Sony's promo site didn't list anything and a search in google didn't find anything either.

What is the XP 1500+ comparable too? P4 1.4/1.6?

so the Sony XA53 is like $1599-$100 sony rebate (it's on the amazon site)
plus you get a $200 promotional gift certificate to amazon?

If the XP 1500+ is comparable to a P4 1.6 or 1.4 , i'm definitly in.

(but is it?)

This PC at Fujitsu

I own a C-series fujitsu... everything is built in... I love it! This has become my main system as my desktop is sssssoooooo ssslllllloooooowwwwww compared.

I'll answer any questions I can.

Can someone post a link for the rebates? I just stopped by my BB B&M and they had it for $1499 - $100 (BB rebate). No mention of a Fujitsu rebate nor a $50 Gift Card.

Details? It looks like a sweet PC.

grinwell,

if you can't find it, it's listed in this weeks for best buy. Show them the paper and ask where the heck is the rebate.

grinwell,

its on page 23 of the BB Flyer dated June 23 (should be the one in stores until saturday, blue cover with MIB pics on it)

Fujitsu online store lists the same unit with 15" display for $50 more. I wonder if BB BM carries the 15" version (nearest BB is 1 hr away 🙁), or if fujitsu online store would do a pricematch to $1299 AR and add $50 for 15" screen.

Does anyone know a site where they compare the Mobile athlons and Intel's?

are the athlon xp 1500+ the same, worse or better than the P4 1.6?

thanks!

Havent seen many reviews for this particular model but there are reviews on similar models on epinion.
Played with it a little at best buy and it seems like its pretty well built, beautiful screen and nice solid keyboard even has the 16MB mobility radeon. The design of the Lifebook is also a plus with the built in external keys for cd playback. Visually its definately better looking than the standard black notebook computer.

Only thing its lacking is a 15 inch screen.
