I have a IBM drive that took a dump in the first year and a replacement was sent.
Now the replacement that about 1 1/2 old is buggy as #@LL

Wonder if any of the IBM drives are part of this?

No, Fujitsu does not make IBM's drives. Hitachi, on the other hand, has something to do with IBM's drives; or vice versa. Their drives share the same model names, like Deskstar and Travelstar, so there must be some connection there. Regardless, Fujitsu's IDE drives, in general, suck! They're cheaply made, run too hot, too slow, too expensive... ugh.

I built a system about two and a half years ago with a Fujitsu drive that has just recently failed so i'm now wondering if this may be one of the affected drives. I live Grenada and i bought the drive from www.axiontech.com so i wonder if the settlement would apply to me as well...?

I have one of this HD which failed and RMA back to Fujitsu. Loss all my data.
You can Register here for your claim.
The HD models are Part Number composed of or starting with the sequence of MPF3102AH, MPF3153AH, MPF3204AH, MPG3102, MPG3153, MPT3204, MPG3307, or MPG3409, which may be followed by alphabetical character(s). The hard disk drives were sold in the United States beginning in 2000.
There is also a Utility to ID your HD here.
