FujiPlus FP-988D 19" 12ms LCD with DVI $232 AR ($90) @ Newegg

Well in less than a day the deal is alive again through 9/30. This has been on sale with rebates off and on since July.

Deal just got colder at $232 AR shipped (UPS 3-day/Fedex Saver). Claimed to be an 8-bit panel by a previous buyer (checked with DisplayMate). Expires 9/30

EDIT: Yes, I know this is at Tiger Direct, for $199 AR ($120), if you ever get it. But fvck TD. Plus they want $19 for UPS Ground shipping to Northern VA.

There is a good reason why buying from Tiger Direct may be better than buying from Newegg though: The Dead Pixel Policy. Newegg's policy states that they will not replace your LCD if it doesn't have more than 8 dead pixels. In my case, that is just NOT acceptable. As long as that policy stays intact, I will NEVER buy a LCD Monitor from them. Tiger Direct's replacement/return policy is pretty good. I've returned and gotten things replaced, and they usually do not even ask for reasons. I've also never had any problems with their rebates either.

this is a great monitor, i have one... The only problem, as all the reviews on newegg reports, is that you have to learn how to adjust the colors. Im not sure who actualy makes the LCD panel but i think its probably the newer non samsung panels. Not sure though...it could be a samsung in the end. Does anyone remember that other LCD panel that has better color quality and better viewing angles than the samsung? I read a review on it but now i cant find it nor do i remember the company manufacturing it. I think this monitor could be it as the viewing angle is really big. FujiPlus could of really done a better job of adjusting the colors as thats the only complaint i have.

Mine came with two dead pixels but i did the rubbing trick (rub it lightly for a few seconds with a soft cloth, like putting a finger under your shirt) and it worked!

are you sure that worked? can that trick be done with other panels beside this one?

the rubbing trick sometimess works for stuck pixel, but people have reported varied success. I wouldn't buy a panel thinking oh, i can just massage out the bad pixels.

I've had good luck with NewEgg, no dead pixels and I've ordered about 10 of them. I usually buy BenQ LCDs, though. On topic, this looks like a great deal. Lowest priced 19" LCD at NewEgg after rebate.

About how long ago was that? It'd suck to have another Soyo incident. I hate rebates, but if they're quick about it I might just order one myself.

let me check newegg invoice then edit.

AND NO REBATE. thanks

Ordered mine on 6/12 from the Egg, no dead pixels and I LOVE it so far ....

alas ....

no rebate yet !!! The only way to track rebate is a toll call to FujiPlus IIRC. I have all of my paperwork copied so these SOB's better not leave me hanging.

EDIT: How many people have actually gotten their rebates from previous deals on this monitor?
WARNING TO FUTURE FUJIPLUS SHOPPERS:

Bought mine back in June and still no rebate. I called several times and they keep telling me to call back next month.

I called again for the 5th time and now they tell me my rebate has not been approved because of the invoice. Even if approved, over 90 days for any rebate is a joke. Stay away!

I'm done with Fujiplus.

Been using the Hyundai L90D+ 19" LCD with far more accurate color and picture results. Games like Doom3 are no longer overly dark...it was near impossible to play with the Fujiplus (without cranking up the gamma and blowing the other details out). Have ordered/setup 4 Hyundai's and have never gotten any dead pixels.

If you don't care for rebates, accurate color, saturated pictures, darker screen, then go for the Fujiplus. Actually, I would still give the Acer a shot...

You should take this up with Newegg. Everyone who is owed a rebate should contact either Newegg and/or Min Maw with a complaint. Newegg doesn't want another Soyo fiasco and I'm sure if enough attention is drawn to the situation they'll step in and handle it.

EDIT: And it looks like they raised the price $10.
