FujiFilm Camera drivers in WinXP

Hi,
I have a FujiFilm FinePix 1400 and I can't get it to work on WinXP. When I put it in and I turn it on, WinXP detects everything and installs the proper drivers. I get the message "the device is ready to use" but I don't see the "extra" drive it used to create like in Win2k. I downloaded the extra drivers from Fuji, and they say to install the drivers from the CD and then upgrade with their .exe file. Well I Updated the drivers from the ones in XP to the ones on the CD (well, I downdated the drivers), and then patched them with the file from Fuji... but nothing... it looks like it's all okay, but I don't see my extra drive....

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place?

Thx

I couldn't get the patch to work either, so I just bought a USB smart media reader. Much less of a hassle.... 🙂

I think this one is easy. DONT install it as a camera or imaging device. Install it as a removable drive, or storage or something like that. I had this problem myself with the finepix 1400z for a long time.. in win2k also. Thing is, it works with the drivers from the disk if installed right.

I have the Fuji FinePix 6800 Zoom. I'm not sure what I did, but I think I installed a "USB Mass Storage Driver" or something like that. Everything works great now, i love my finepix
