Did Fujifilm update the cdrs so that they officially support 24x?

Hot deal none the less.

CDR Identifier - recording speeds min unknown max unknown

BTW, I just noticed that this Staples deal is mentioned in the Target FujiFilm thread

I did do a search on FujiFilm before I posted this and saw the Target thread - I just didn't read any of it. Like most folks, I thought it was strictly a Target deal. I didn't see mention of it in HawkeyeNJ's post of the scan either (thanks for the scan, HawkeyeNJ)

Just a heads up to the premature flamers out there (you know who you are).

Great Find!!!! My local staples in Lakeland FLorida had a big display of these. They were selling for 14.94. They too were identified as Taiyo Yuden in EAC and CDR Identifier. One hell of a deal!!!!

haha, awesome cds.... truely....
Gunther and I went on Sunday and nearly cleaned out our local Staples, buying a total of 16 packs (800 CDRs)....

I love these CDs

Oh, and I think we made enemies with the store manager for buying so much..... he was eyeing us with an evil stare.. haha

I wonder what everyone does with all these CD-Rs, ok maybe I don't wanna know. This is a great deal though, 50 quality CD-Rs for $9.94. Only wish Staples was closer to my work *shrugs*.

Will someone PM me the $10 off $30 Staples B&M coupon info? Thanks.

The_Dude, rebate form says "Limit 1 per name, address, group or organization."

Of course, if you have friends, relatives or neighbors, that's not really hard to get around. Some stores are out of stock and are giving rainchecks at the $9.94 price, so that makes it even easier. Even if you don't use a rebate on multiple spindles, $14.94 is a great deal for Taiyo Yudens considering how often you see the made in Taiwan junk selling for $25-30 for 50 discs.

Anyone know where to find these in the NYC area? I went to the Staples at Union Square and in Brooklyn, and they don't have it.

Same here. I need the rebate form also. $10 each pack is a VERY nice price.

If they don't have the forms, you should try 'naggin' the manager to deduct the rebate price from the total sale :)

ShrimpyJ:

Many Staples stores (incl. all of them in my city) did not receive any of these. I'm more than certain that this is not an isolated situation, as they had a pre-printed sign on the shelf explaining the stock shortage. My store was more than happy to issue a raincheck and in fact issued it at the after rebate price just in case they don't get the CDRs in before the rebate purchase period expires.

Am I the only one that noticed the 24x sticker covering up the 16x one on the packaging?

While they do seem to come from a later batch at the old Taiyo factory, they are identical to the 16x media.

Ian:

Just an FYI. A couple of the 16X spindle packs that I bought a few months ago during the CompUSSR and OMax sales had 16X stickers over a 12X rating. So now we're seeing 24X stickers over the 16X's. At least they're consistent.

Like Steven Tyler says ... "It's all good".

Although he wasn't talkin' 'bout CDRs. :) :) :)

spr1nt, scan may not work, the rebate form says, "send the original rebate form". I got one spindle yesterday.

seems like nowadays most stores are unloading blank CDRs at rockbottom prices...

that whole scare that CDR media will go up this summer seems pretty flat now...

SKU doesn't work for me :( Who has a 24x burner anyway's? (I think most blank CD's will burn at speeds than they are labeled - However, the companies are only certifying them for the speed on the packaging, not more. Your results may vary) The PNY's are still a good deal if you can't get the Fuji's - haven't had any problems with them yet........ (BTW - I have been burning 12x on PNY 8x's)
