Be aware this isn't a true 4.3 megapixel camera. It uses a 2.4 MP CCD and interpolates the image to 4.3 MP. Check the review on steve-sdigicams.com Here
It still seems like an OK deal, if these refurbs are reliable.

I bought one a month ago before a trip.
It's a great camera. You can't beat the price!!!

TIPS:
- Keep it on the "fine" setting

- It uses up batteries when you use the video screen, so immediately get some NiMH rechargeables (DEAL @ Sam's - 8 AA and charger for only $19.99) Everyone complains about batteries, so 6 in reserve constantly will hush up even the harshest critic

- Get a 128 mb Smartmedia card (also @ Sams for $49)

MOST IMPORTANT!
- BUY THE STRAP AND COVER (for some reason a seperate $4.99 purchase) FROM COMPUTERGEEKS AT THE SAME TIME YOU ORDER YOUR CAMERA. I didn't and have dropped mine twice so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

since it aint true 4.3mp, couldnt u buy a 2mp camera and interpolate by yourself, that way u'd save money/space on your smartmedia card

Beware of Fuji refurb units. I bought a refurb'ed MX1700 from ubid a year ago... and it just died on me. It fails to read/write to the smart media. My friend also bought a refurb'ed MX1300 (?), and it failed on the same thing - can't read/write to the SM. I am not sure if it's just the use of SM... but 2 different refurb'ed Fujis failing from the same thing.

TurboQ thats not good news, maybe this is an issue with Fujis. I have a new one from last year but really It dosent have that many pic on it yet... This one only has a 90 day warranty so if any problems after a few months I bet repairs would be steep

Anyone know the quality compared to something like the Canon a40? I am kinda shopping for a camera right now. The refurb and how goofy it looks kinda turns me off. Not to mention its smart media rather than compact flash.....
