Fuji FinePix 2600 owners.. question (still..)

I had a Fuji 1400 and it had the option to accumulate (sp?) file image names (so unless you format the number keeps going where you last left off instead of starting over at 001 each time).. can you do this with the 2600?

TIA..

I don't have one...but i have another question about them, since i'm thinking of purchasing one:

Is there an option to extend exposure time? (i.e. leave shutter open for a second for night shots or whatever?)

I don't know about that exact model but you can do that with the Finepix 1300 and 2300.

I have a Fuji 2600, I'll check on these questions and let you know....

(sohcrates, I think I told you I was going to do that a while back but I forgot 😱)

sohcrates : You'll have to excuse my photo-newbieness 🙂

I've checked the manual and the 2600z has EV (Exposure Compensation) is that the same thing?

Here is a link to the product information page which includes PDFs of the users manuals - perhaps that would be more use.

Cheers.

Thanks Mitzi,

Though i must admit that the fact that you actually *own* a digicam makes ME more of a newbie than you 🙂

I'll check out the link (and hopefully actually BUY the camera this week)

In your opinion, is it a good size? Not too bulky?

For the naming thing, i don't think it does, as i hear thats a problem, but i don't really care, as for the exposure, no you can't. You'll need a higher end camera for that. Now is kinda of a weird time to buy cameras. They are pretty cheap, but not cheap enough and we have X3 coming out and next year digicams will be totally different. So i would buy the cheapest one now, instead of high end, becuase high end now will be nothing close to next year. Of coarse this doesn't happen every year like comps, so it might be too to wait till then.

Yes and yes.. for both questions..
The filenames automatically accumulate, counting from the highest number on your smart media card.
The 2600 has that exposure compensation thing that essentially changes the shutter speed.

Broke down and bought my 2600Z tonight!

Charging batteries as we speak.

I'm pumped!

Cool, hope you enjoy it. I do think the camera is a little bulky but I don't mind too much. I suggest you go and buy a couple of sets of spare batteries because the camera can wear out a set of fresh batteries in about 2 hours (especially if you use the LCD a lot).

.

but, many times i take many pictures and copy them over, then erase them all, then it starts over, with my 1400 i could do that and unless i formatted it would pick up where i left off.. is there no way to set this? its more of a pain deleting all but your last picture than the actual problem of accumulating..
