fuji finepix 2600 $229 new

I had the 1.4 mpixel model that preceded this. The two cameras are almost identical except for the resolution and a few minor details. At this price, this looks like a simply terrific entry-level camera for someone just getting started in digital. Uses standard AA batteries (although hi-capacity NiMH cells would certainly be recommended), has real optical zoom, and can be fit into a generous shirt pocket if necessary.

I have this camera too....It's a great camera no doubt. It does eat up those batteries quick, and you can only get ~30 or so images on the included 16MB smartmedia. Just pick yourself up a nice 64MB smartmedia card & another pair (or two) of NiMH AA batteries & you're good to go. Also would be nice if it used a standard A->B USB plug (I just had the included proprietary one die on me). Oh, and BTW, Fuji Tech support is PATHETIC! Took about 3hrs on the phone to get above mentioned cable replaced. They couldn't decide which department should mail me a new cable, so they kept bouncing me all around.

Many of us got this camera around Thanksgiving from 800.com for about $130 with a free $50 GC 🙂

It's a good camera. For the price I paid, I like it a lot. Two problems I have with it are that it can't take any scenic shots at night, and you can't take pictures with the flash off (well, you can, but there's no focus).

This camera sells retail for $299 in most places. I got one of these for my mother just before Xmas doing a pricematch at Staples and using a $40 off $200 coupon. My final price shipped with all taxes was $215, but I got REALLY lucky. $229 is a good price as long as they don't mark up the shipping on it too much. Too many companies are doing that these days.

I bought the Fuji 2400 camera last May and am already wanting to get rid of it.

Taking photos in low light isn't so great and the zoom allows you to zoom pretty well but the photos come out horrible. Also, eats batteries like crazy if you use the LCD (which others have said) and I've had a couple instances where I took like a bunch of photos, deleted some that I didn't want, etc. and when it came time to put onto my computer's hard drive, the camera has erased all of them. On that count, Fuji reps did tell me the SmartMedia card might be defective, but pain in the arse anyhoo.

For this price or a bit more, you can get a much better camera.

Unless you go here and check it out. I've purchased several times from BuyDig with no problems.
It's a decent camera for a decent price, but no barn burner.

This is a good deal on this cam. I have one. It doesn't eat batteries. Keep in mind it only uses 2 AA's (many dig cam's use 4 AA) So it may seem to go through them pretty quick but in reality you're using half as many at a time so.......

Pics look great when the zoom is used.

Read some reviews, you'll see that the consensus is that this is a pretty good camera. For this price, I don't think you can go wrong. I'd really like to know what camera is better than this for the same $$$.
Otisburg....?

was $279 at CC B&M today and I have heard it is good too take it that you'll need 3+MP to get 8X10 photos. PM me if you want a complete Sony setup for less I gots one in the FS/FT

I've had this camera for about 5 months now & have taken several hundred pics with it.I'm not much of a photographer but here are some sample pics so you can see what to expect.Pics

Click on the individuals to see them in full image size.I think it's a great camera for the price

Toro🙂

I stupidly recommended to my aunt to buy this camera from them. After 2 weeks she still has received nothing. She hasn't tried to contact them yet, but I just checked reseller ratings and it doesn't look good. It seems like a scam to me. And the fact that the thread originator only posted this one post is another indicator that I made a mistake recommending them. She is going to try to cancel her order ASAP. I definitely would not recommend cambridgeworld.com to anyone else. Buyer beware!

Has anyone else ordered from them?
