There have been MANY reports from people on these forums that Fuji has stated that they will NOT honor that rebate. Apparently they dramatically dropped the price of the camera recently, and thereby decided to cancel the rebate promotion sometime in November I think.

If the rebate for is in the box, they will honor it. But they won't accept the reprinted (i.e. off some PDF or webpage) rebate.
Now the question is: does this box have the original form?

I just got mine from Staples a couple of weeks ago and my box did not have a rebate form in it. I was lucky enough to get a nice person to mail me the official pre-printed form. Apparantly some stores still have them laying around, but I couldn't find any in my area.

I think I still have a rebate form or two (no promises), send me an e-mail if you're in need. That'll give me the impetus to do some apartment cleaining.

Trust me. They will not honor the rebate. I bought a 1400 and went through circles with them. They informed me that they dropped the price $90 across the board and that is all they will give. I'm sure if you purchased the camera prior to the price drop they will honor it, but if you purchased the camera after the drop which was in early december than your screwed.

That depends who you talk to.
I got a CSR who said they won't honor the rebates, but then I asked for the supervisor. When she called me back she said what I wrote here.
The only way to be 100% sure is to wait for those of us who applied for the rebate and see how it turns out.

Just a reminder, if you got in on last year's Nomad II deal at emusic.com, you can use the 32 meg SmartMedia card that came with that player as "film" for this camera. Great little camera for the money right now.

I remember a few months back the Fuji Finepix could've been pricematch and couponed down to like $160 Shipped. Why oh why didn't I jump on that deal?

I did. =)

I complained to Staples that Fuji wouldn't honor this and blamed Staples squarely for advertising the rebate over a month after they were told it wouldn't be honored. Staples actually paid ME the $50 =) First good thing I've ever had happen from them.

I ended up getting the camera for a grand total of $122

As far as submitting the rebate(s) goes, make copies! There is no language on the rebate form that mentions the promotion being cancelled and so, as far as the concensus goes, the rebate should go off with minimal hitches.

If you do run into any hitches, provide documentation and pour on the tears. ;)

Yeah, I got it from Staples for $180 shipped.

I printed out the webpage that clearly shows it advertised with the rebate. The thing is, if you read Staples.com small print it says that if you get it for a price lower than with the rebate after the price match they will not honor any rebates.
So unless Fuji pays up I doubt we'll get Staples to honor the rebate either.

False advertising from Fuji to be sure. I usually discourage lawsuits, but here's a case where they clearly state on the rebate form when the deal is good untill with no disclaimers about the price you paid, they can discontinue it, etc. They deserve to get nailed for this because I'm sure the cameras are still selling based on the expectation of people receiving their $50 rebate.
