I think this is a good deal for this camera. Price is $219 at Centore.com plus there is a MIR for$50 from Fuji. I ordered over the phone. They tried to sell me accessories. I kept saying no and they kept lowering the price. After searching, I did call them back and order the AC adapter for $30. Shipping seems to be negotiable when ordering accessories. Their standard shipping is $16.95.

http://www.digitalcamerastore.com/ You can download the rebate slip here. Just look for the camera and the rebate link is there. Camera must be purchased by 1/31/01

Fuji has stated very harshly that they will not honor the $50 MIR. They said that if a site is still advertising the rebate then they are in error. The reason they are not honoring the rebate is because up until december the 1400 cost >$300 from most vendors and Fuji cut the price $90 to their vendors. The vendors were supposed to cut the price to us (which they did), and pull the rebate from their site (which most of them didn't).

Good luck, but I bet you'll never see that rebate.

Funny to see that there is still hot deals and rebate debate for this camera, I bought one a couple of months ago and everyone said that the rebate would not be honored, well, I got my rebate today :) my final cost for this camera was $130.00 after rebate, coupon , and passport discount :)

The rebate form clearly says it is for cameras purchased between9/15/00 and 01/31/01 there is nothing stating that the offer may be revoked or end early for any reason, if you bought this camera and are eligible for the rebate then stick to your guns and keep good documentation, they cant just say "We changed our mind" :p

If the try to get out of honoring the rebate coupon:

CALIFORNIA CODES

I've heard several different conflicting stories about the rebate however the consensus between hot dealers like ourselves and Fujifilm USA headquarters is they will honor only the original white and green $50 rebate form. Of course you could call 100 different Fuji CSRs and would probably end up with 50 says yes and 50 says no. I say try and find an original rebate form, make copies of EVERYTHING, send it USPS with delivery confirmation and wait the usual 8-10 weeks. You should get your rebate check, if you don't I'm sure that by then there will be enormous consumer pressure against Fujifilm to honor the rebate.

A hot deal ? It seems with all the rebate controversy (& risk) that the deal is not so hot. Anyway, I'd like to have one if it were really cheap. I a. ready to upgrade from my December hot deal $35.00 Afga C18 <g>.

I may be able to pick these up used ones at $150 plus shipping. Basically open package, no box (no smartmedia), but the camera works fine. Ask me on Feb. 16th for anyone that is interested. I'll add the camera to the list of stuff I will be shopping for.
