Went in this morning to get two packs in the TY style cake box which states made in Japan. Nero InfoTool gives media code TYG02. Be warned there were some made in Taiwan packs at the stores here and it is one rebate per household.

In stock at the Akron, Ohio (Chapel Hill) and Fairlawn, Ohio (Summit Mall) stores.

P.S.: I checked and did not see this mentioned anywhere else. Sorry if it is a repost.

Good deal if you can still find the made in Japan spindles. I bought 100 from Fry's in the last 2 months and all were Made in Japan ($11.99 after $5 rebate for each 25 pack).

There were two or three TY DVD-R spindles last weekend when I was there. Today there were about 12 TY DVD-R spindles. The DVD+R spindles are another story, about half and half for the 12 or so on the floor.

This deal is not for the DVD+R, or atleast not where I am located. The TY DVD+R 50pk in the stores here was still listed at ~$45.00.

I picked up 2 50-pack spindles yesterday from Best Buy. Printed on the packaging is "up to 8x," so I would guess that these are rated at more than 1x. My discs are "made in Japan" TYG02's, by the way, and there were plenty more Japanese discs at the Huntsville, AL, Best Buy.

These discs are top of the line, the made in Japan Fuji's are much better than just about anything you're going to find. You just need to be careful about the packaging, Fuji buys discs from multiple sources and some are great and some suck. The made in Japan's are Taiyo Yudens and if you can find them for a decent price you jump. If they're made in Taiwan stay away as they're garbage. For that reason never mail order Fuji discs, only buy them from B&M stores so you can be sure of what you're getting.

BTW, the Orange Connecticut store only has a couple of spindles of the -R in stock and they're all Taiwan discs, so if you were planning on going hoping to find TY's don't bother.

FUJI rebates are as good as SCAM. Many people on this forum were screwed by it. I am one of them.

I've received all 4 fuji rebates I sent in without even needing to do any follow up.

That's the first that I've heard of "many people" not receiving fuji rebates. But if you bought it from ConUSA, i don't doubt it. I have very little rebate trouble since I stopped shopping there.

i got mine (early cd-r) also. but i remember reading during a lot of the past fuji cd-r deals of people not getting theirs
$30 isn't that bad for some good discs though -- what's worse is burning bad or not at all (coaster)
thanks to op ffor posting

I got some of these. Made in Japan. TYG02

Said they burn at 12x with Nero Infotool, but when I went to burn them the time it takes suggests they're burning at 8x. still a good burn though.

I have been burned twice in the past 8 or 9 months by Fuji on their rebates. Consequently I will NOT buy Fuji anything no matter how good the price. Both times I purchased from Office Max.

They sent me a post card telling me they cannot honor the rebate but no reason why.

Only made in Taiwan at the one in Sac by Arden.

And unless I was mistaken, also saw 25 pack Fuji DVD-R for $10.
