Can someone show me a link that provides information to why Taiyo Yudens "rock"? I've seen the links in the past, but I've just been too lazy to read them.

I dont have a link off hand but the rule of thumb is if you are using these for burning audio, you want to use a cyanine recording layer. Most older audio equipment are tolerant of this surface. Taiyo Yuden focuses a lot more of their effort on high quality cyanine dye. While on the other hand if the use is primarily for data archival (long term) then you want a disk with a high quality phthalocyanine surfaced disk... but this is not as campatible with audio CD players. In other words, you cant go wrong with cyanine.
