Fuel Cell

I just got a fuel cell from my borther and when I opened it up there is some weird pastic foam like stuff in it. When you try picking some up it comes off the pile of it and it seems it is made up off thousands of small cross shaped things.

Any clue on what they are?

It's part of the fuel cell - don't remove it. It prevents the fuel from sloshing around during hard acceleration, braking, and turning. It also adds to the safety of the vehicle by reducing the speed at which fuel can exit from a possible break in the tank.

Well when I try to pull on it the stuff comes off very easily. Wouldn't that clog up the fuel line or something?

Only if someone is inside the fuel cell playing around while you're driving.
