PS3 controller is awful. The rare time I play mine, in no time I find my hand cramping and getting pins and needles. The 360 controller is much more comfortable and ergonomic.

It's a shame Sony hasn't bothered redesigning the controller for 10 years!

I've always preferred the PS controller for everything, with the exception of FPSs (goes to 360, or actually the Wii-mote). I just fucking hate how every driving game on the 360 uses the damn triggers for gas and brake. I prefer the PS's analog face buttons. Also the bumpers are for me at least, uncomfortably placed.

Just so you know the PS3 uses the same system for gas and brake as the 360. Also I don't know how you can prefer the analogue sticks. Seems counter intuitive. Also you can't left foot brake with analogue sticks. Its a preference thing I guess.

For fighting games the PS controller is better, but that's cause of the d-pad not the design or the layout.

AFAIK, standard brake and gas controls are on the square and X buttons respectively on most PS3 games, GT5 I know for sure (I have it). As for the analogue sticks for brake and gas, I think they work quite well for it, I remember using them for GT1 and GT2  And I was referring to the analogue face buttons on the PS2 and PS3 controllers, not the right stick as you might have thought I was suggesting. The pressure sensitive face buttons were great for zoom control in the Ace Combat games (triangle), controlling how many Homing Missiles you wanted to launch in Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner, as well as "quietly" putting your gun away in MGS2 without accidentally firing a shot, while still keeping it on your person. The Xbox nor 360 controllers don't have these pressure sensitive face buttons, and they suck for not having them because they proved incredibly useful for plenty of games, racing games most notably.

Strange, GT5 prologue used the triggers. Maybe my friend had different controls. I used X and Square in GT1 and GT2, but I couldn't manage the pressure sensitive buttons in GT4 at all so I used the right analogue stick. Thankfully I can use my 360 controller with the PS2 emulator. I don't think I'd be able to manage the buttons in the games you managed. Poor thumb management on my side :p

Oh yeah, in ZOE: 2nd Runner, the other cool thing was using the pressure sensitive buttons to control the shot spread of the Phalanx Cannon subweapon. It was pretty sweet.

I'm sure GT Prologue had customizable controls like the GT games always have. As for the face buttons, I like them because I can rest the middle bone of my thumb on the X button for gas and the tip on the square button. It's very comfortable and extremely effective. You just rock your thumb in the direction you desire. Of course this works best if you have hitchhiker's thumb like me lol.
