fudgy is denser and makes the chocolate taste more concentrated (makes it gross)

use the extra egg and do everyone a favor. ;) wait, dark chocolate? you lose already.

The fudge like will be closer to a bar of chocolate. Heavy and hard.
The cake like will be closer to, well, CAKE! :) Light and fluffy. Like bread.

I like both types, myself.

In my opinion, if you go for cake like brownies, you need frosting or icing of some kind. The fudge like brownies can stand on their own.

Exactly. Cake like is too dry. If you want cake, don't make brownies!

Don't be mad just because I left all the gross brownies on the table for you. ;)

I like fudgy brownies. The best brownies I've tasted are the ones in Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie. OMG, so good.

Weird, I can't believe it doesn't give a recommendation for making chewy brownies (neither fudgy or cakey).

In from-scratch recipes, chewy calls for the fudgy recipe + more flour.

But if those are the only choices, I think cake-like brownies are awful.
