hummm interesting. i remember watching a daytime talk show many years ago where the host had a bunch of people on stage and the audience was asked to guess what they did for a living. the two people i remember as the guest were the makers of Snapple and the 4 guys from FUBU. people in the audience said the snapple guys were some how in the porn insustry and the FUBU guys as drug dealers.
Anyway, i remember the FUBU guys saying that the acronym stood for For you By You.

I once read that 15% - 20% of all FUBU clothing is purchased out of someone's trunk (metaphorically speaking).
I personally think FUBU clothing looks like a clown outfit, or a toddlers outfit.
Don't toddlers wear bright colored/matching pant/shirt sets? Like red sweat pants and a red sweat shirt with a cartoon character on it?

If the jokes were funny then I would laugh. Don't be so sensitive. The blacks at work and I always joke around, and during the month of February the big joke was about how it was their month so they get to be treated like kings and such. I work at a restaurant with a lot of poor whites and blacks, and I dunno they are just able to joke about things that some middle class guy that's never worried about paying the bill or never had his neighbor slinging coke would joke about. I dunno man, loosen up.

While I don't have exact numbers I'd be willing to bet the number of Union soldiers who died durring the Civil War fighting for your freedom is greater than the number of slaves who died as a dirrect result of slavery. I'd say we're even.
And yes, I'm aware that the Civil War, despite popular spin, wasn't really about slavery but since you post was completely lacking in common sense I figured I might as well respond in kind.

I had a coworker last year who used to wear FUBU on fridays. I'd give him crap, asking where his crack pipe was. Because he dressed nice the rest of the week and it was always jarring seeing him on Fridays. 😉

If anyone here has read any of my posts you would know I'm not an overly PC, racially sensitive person. However I don't find it in good taste to make jokes about slavery, the holocaust, 911 or any other tragedy where people were repressed or killed. I'd like to see some of you crack a few jokes about the soldiers who lost their lives in Iraq around their parents. Yeah, yeah I know what you're gonna reply next, "slavery happened a long time ago, no one from back then is still alive", "don't be so sensitive". Well my response to those kind of comments are fvck you, I don't find it humorous when people make jokes about others who were physically abused, raped, murdered and treated like sub-humans. I'm a direct descendant of those people and yes I'm sensitive about jokes that make light of the situation.
Moshquerade you're a gem in my book, not just because you're taking a stance in this post but because I've noticed you always try to be reasonable when some of these threads degenerate into something less than acceptable.

In retrospect I realize some of you may not intend on being malicious, but you gotta realize that you can't joke about everything. One of these days you could crack a joke around the wrong person and it could cost you a job/career, a friendship or even your life. And it's not like I don't appreciate humour or freak out over every little thing, hell I listen to Stern almost everyday but...
