Thank god! I thought I was the only one to think those acronyms were plainly stupid.

Someone told me once that some people even say "lol" in real life! I never heard someone say it, nut just to think about it makes my brain hurt! Some people... just say... lol... instead of... really ... laughing? WTF? What's wrong with people?

One of my roommates says "lawl", I knew a kid in high school that would say "jk".

 
I'm not a big fan of any figure of speech originating from chat monkeys on the Internet. Especially in acronym form.

Internet fads are the worst of them all. All your ____ are belong to us, in Soviet Russia, _____ _____'s you, Chuck Norris and roundhouse kicks, FTW, FTL, QFT, !!!!111!112!.

They're usually not very funny in the first place. Maybe worth a chuckle or two with the right timing and in the right context, but then you see it at least once in every single thread that you click on. It gets old real quick.

Don't even complain about FTW. My roommate says STFU like "stoo-foo", uses "teh" in normal speech, and I've actually heard him say on two occasions, "pwns real hard" while referring to a game.

1. it isn't an acronym, it's an abbreviation.

One acronym I?ve never understood is when instead of typing lol, people type lololololololol.

If they are trying to express that they are laughing even more so 🙂confused: ?), then why not just put ROFL, or LMAO??

haha i use it all alot online, and it doesn't bother me at all...i think its funny. I don't think i have ever used it in real life though unless i am referring to it satiricly.
