What are FTP sites and how are they different.
Why can't I access them using Cute FTP.
My friend told me it is because I am on @ Home.
He has the same problem and that was the answer
given by the local computer store.
Thanks,
Mort:confused:

The most common problem I see with FTP newbies is that they haven't set up their ftp software to default to "anonymous" as username and your e-mail address as the password. @home may forbid you to run a ftp server, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't let you go to ftp sites (how else would you load your own webpage?)

@home does not (at least in my area) forbid you from from running an FTP server. I know this because my, uhhh, friend has one.....

if neither you nor your friend are able to access multiple ftp sites, it is more than likely a configuration issue on your end.

Try using a different FTP program. I'm 99.99999% sure its a configuration problem. try turning PASV mode on.
