FTP server software

what are the recommended softwares apart from Serv - U

I tried using Bullet Proof.

and i received this message when I try to enable the server online.

"13/10/2002 02:07:53 SERVER: Unable to start server, port 21 may already be in use."

I am using Win XP Pro, how can I check which application etc is currently using port 21.

I am using a PCI adsl router and not behind and firewall or router.

guildftpd.com is FREEEEEEEE...and it's just as good as bulletproof and g6...only passive ip option is missing. No need to pirate or pay top dollar.

Lankor , I had the same problem - then I remembered I left the IIS ftp service on .

Passive mode real IP sure does exist in guildftpd.
