I need an FTP server I can install as a service in my XP system.. Im using BulletProof FTP, but I dont think it supports running as a service.. Maybe FTP Serv-U does?

I dont want to run IIS, because of all the virii out there right now.. so what could I use? :D

i run warftp as a service on my box....give it a try. it's newest versions have a ton of updates integrated that take care of all the security vulnerabilities, so it's a good program

just add ftp serv-u to your STARTUP folder. that should launch the sucker every time.

That may work. But the issue is, this box has multiple users. People wont even be logged in 85% of the time. It needs to run even when people are not logged in.

the latest version of serv-u (3.0) will run as a service on nt/2k/xp, but a drawback to running it as a service, network resources through serv-u are not available. it seems that is a con with all services running as local system.

i am using serv-u but have to run it in the startup folder due to this.
