Friday moning I decide to order some flowers for my b/friend's mother.Ignorning my usual ferengi instincts I decide to go with FTD.com instead of pro-flowers or 1-800 Flowers.

I pick a nice arrangement, they promise delivery Friday or Sat...flash forward to sat morning,in my email a notice that the florist cancelled my order.I call FTD and find out that the florist isn't sure where the address is located...they even called the fire station.I tell FTD to get the florist on the phone, tell them that the gift receiver lives in one town but has ther phone number exchange of another and that it's ok to call them for directions, the florist agrees and my order is resubmitted and promised for Sat evening or Sunday.

No flowers! We told his Mom a present was coming and nothing came! tey didn't even have the courtesy to email me or to respond to my email inquiry this morning. They also charged my credit card.

I call this evening and they're like "well, the florist decided to reject your orders,we can maybe get something there on tuesday" I am livid!!!!!

i just use 1800flowers.com

never had any problem at all with them

they are even good for "next day" incase i need them for my g/f, but i rarely do that because i never do something stupid 😉

Yea 1800flowers.com is really good.

They just sent me an email telling me that per my instructions they've cancelled my order and credited my visa... Grrhhh...their florist was the one who cancelled my order not once but twice, kept the receipant of the flowers waiting all day and burned up a couple of my hours waiting on hold to speak to them! grrrr!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered some flowers for my mom on Friday through 1800flowers. She got them Saturday afternoon. 😉

One year my sister bought my mother a $150 "gourmet" gift basket. My mom lives rurally. FTD called a local florist to have them create the basket. They went to Walmart, bought potato chips, lipton tea, wrigleys gum, doritos, etc. and delivered it.

My mom was amused and my sister livid. FTD did refund the money and the manager my sister spoke with said they probably would not use that florist again.

It was pretty humorous what someone apparently thought was gourmet.

They offered to try to get some flowers out there on tuesday and give me a coupon for 20% off my next order.Their attitude was very "so what?"

Think I should call em back and tell them I'd like the 20% off coupon...to use at 1800-flowers?😛

Do not even call back to allow them the dignity of crediting you back. Instead, do a chargeback and make them eat the chargeback fees.

FTD messed up my brother's gift of flowers to my mom a few years ago (failed to deliver too, if I recall correctly). Since then he and I have both used 1800Flowers without any problems.

Another vote to boycott FTD, they seem to do a poor job of screening / choosing their local florists.

I had a similar thing happen to me a couple Valentine's ago. Ordered flowers for my now ex-gf. She never received it and FTD never bothered to inform me. Called them up and was told that the florist never got around to delivering it. FTD apologized and then refunded my money. What a bunch of asshats.

Proflowers.com also blow. The previous Valentine's, I ordered 2 dozen premium roses. They "ran out" and delivered a bunch of wilted small pink roses instead. And then delivered the premium roses 2 days later.

1-800-flowers deliver crappy flowers as well.

I've found that the best thing to do is to find a florist local to the recipient and submit your order to them directly. I've had wonderful results each time.

Here's another vote against FTD. My parents run their own florist business, and they stayed on FTD, oh, about 3 months. FTD was not good to them, so they got out of it. They are now on Teleflora and it's great. So next time, try Teleflora, or like iliopsoas said above, contact a local florist directly. 🙂

I always call a local shop. I always find a local shop. I always talk wit the actual designers.

And the women are NEVER disappointed!!!

i've used FTD several times each with great success, but maybe that's more an indication of the local florist where the flowers are delivered rather than FTD
