Had to vent because noone is at the 800 number to listen. This is the second time I've ordered flowers online and they weren't delivered. This time it cost me a friggin $90 for a lousy dozen roses that my woman didn't get. -expletive-expletive-expletive you, FTD.

Thank you. Now I can take my loving wife and buy myself a fat steak.

Not 30 seconds after I posted that message did this email come through. Wow, I LOVE FTD!! The gods are on my side and I can have a nice, wine-filled enjoyable evening...

Dear Phillip:

Thank you for your recent purchase from FTD.COM for xxxx. Due to the
holiday volume of orders, our florists in your recipient's area are unable
to deliver any more orders by February 14th. We greatly apologize for
this inconvenience. We have cancelled your order and have issued a full
refund in the amount of $87.98 to your credit card.

rule of thumb:

go to ftd.com
look up nearest flower shop.
skip ftd.com, call them up and place the order.
Or drive in and do it.

Works good every year 🙂

Proflowers.com is also suck. I ordered flowers for mothers' day 3 weeks in advance so that she would definately get them the Friday before mothers' day. To make a long story short, she got them on the Tuesday following the holiday (and dead also). To save my arse for valentines day my gf is getting them straight from the flowershop down the street.

Emulex, if they have too many requests to fulfill, won't that get in the way of having your flower delivered today? I delivered flowers for my aunt's florist shop during Valentines day and some people couldn't get their orders in because she was just swamped with requests. She had to make them all with a few helpers that day so I could only imagine how busy she must have been.

dunno the local shop here, when they opened at 9am was entirely full of orders #1-250, and took about 5 minutes to dig mine up, but i called the afternoon b4 at like 2pm and they were like sure, come get your flowers.

hand delivering is 10x better if you can get a few hours off.

I'm in a pretty nice area of town, and the flowers were $71 🙂

Order in advance at a local florist and save yourself the trouble. Even better, don't buy roses -- buy a nice arrangement of flowers. They usually last longer, look nicer, and can be quite impressive for less money than the Valentine's Day "raping rose" specials.

Fortunately, my wife and I agreed to just exchange cards this year since we're heading to Paris next month. Found a great card and saved a heap of money. 😀

this happened to me twice on valentine's day. once from a local florist and one from 1-800-FLOWERS.

Lesson learned... just buy them and deliver them in person.

what happens if the florist doesn't have what your looking for..
nevermind, just get something else.. hehe..

They screwed up your order and then only gave you your money back? Damn, I'd do so much ranting they'd be offering me Gift Certificates for next time.. Them failing caused your day not to go as planned...

Anyways.. it's best to go to the local shops and deliver them by hand 😉

Well, at least you got your money back. I bought a dozen roses for my wife from priority flowers and they were crap! They looked like flowers you'd buy from some sick looking dude on a street corner selling them out of a paint bucket.
