Make the F keys (F1-F12, prnt scr, scroll lock, pause break) perform stupid functions (new email, new reply, new this, new that, forward, reverse, play/pause, my computer etc etc) instead of being the default f's (f5 refresh, etc etc)

You can't...there is no fix for it. I hate pressing the fscking flock button to enable the default f functions.

wait wait wait...you're upset because you have to press 1 button, right? So like the computer turns on, you hit this 1 button and everything is fine?

Holy sh!t man, god forbid you ever stub your toe or lose a penny

EDIT: changed the 'G' to a 'g' in "god"

Mine turns on be default so I've never had to fuss with it. I'm using the Logitech Elite keyboard.

I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard, and I hate F-Lock. First, I have to install the software because the connection isn't secure without it. Second, since this is wireless, there is no warning LED that F-Lock is on. What's incredibly annoying is when you hit F5 to refresh and instead it just undo your last action (F-Lock key for F5 is undo).

So it's on by default? Why is that site saying it's off by default? As far as I know, having it doing something unusual means the "feature" is on.

On or off, whatever. Whatever is default is that you can't use the F1-F12 keys normally. Unless playing games, I almost exclusively use the keyboard, with shortcuts and things like F6 to get to the webaddress to go to another site.

Whenever I gotta use the woman's comp, I hit it and that button just happens to be print. So damn annoying. Thats why I'll never leave my Microsoft Natural Pro. Unless it breaks, then I gotta go back to the elite cuzz they don't make pros no more.

I think I'm going to be selling/throwing this keyboard out the window soon. The F lock thing really got to me, but now my Ctrl button locks up for no reason. My keyboard is kept really clean too. Time to get a new keyboard; maybe an IBM with the clicky sounds.

On my system (mx duo) f-lock keys function normally by default -- I have the logitech KB software but not the mouse software.

my MS multimedia keyboard has it off default. So, sometime just has to turn it on.

It is at time annoying since people do forget and get used to the standard F-x function key.

I hope MS and Logitech can make it a default of on and has the choice to turn it off.
