in your case your probably more interested in multiplier than fsb but they are the parameters your cpu sets to the mb so it knows what to run at.for example yours are 5(multi)x100(fsb).for you to overclock it you need to raise one of them.5.5x100=550,5x110=550 get it.im not really a amd man but i believe your processor comes unlocked so you can change the multi on the mb if your chip will handle the extra speed.look in your mb manaul for instructions on changeing fsb and multiplier.then go for it.just only change 1 thing at a time and go slowly.good luck.
opps,sorry i thought you said you had a 500 for some reason.the numbers i gave were for a 500 but the fundamentals are the same.
Front side bus is the front side bus of the system and the multiplier is the internal multiplier of the bus to obtain your CPU's clock speed.
You say you have a 500.
That's a 100 MHz FSB and a multiplier of 5.
Seeing how you have an Epox EP-58MVP3C-M, that would be the "JP3" jumper block located all of the way up in the upper right hand corner of the board (if you're looking at the board mounted in the case and the case is upright).
Also check your core voltage. That's the jumper located just below the CPU labeled "JP2".

I've even given you the location of the jumper blocks on the board. Not in the BIOS and not in Windows. Now, if you don't even know what I mean by the term "jumper" then maybe a professional should be looking at this board for you.
First thing you need to do is read and study the manual, get from Epox web site, so you really know what you are trying to do & what to expect, that 300 might/should do 400mhz atleast the one I had did.
the best thing would be to find the manual for your motherboard, if you dont have it go to the manuf site and download a soft version of the manual. it will tell you all the jumper settings for what you want to do
Now i´ve tried it...i changed the multiplier from 3X to 3.5X
At first it all seemed very good...the temperature rising and rising until 39C...i was really happy because the temp on 3X was about 49C...then after some time...(didnt touch the computer) i decided to start windows(was in bios) but then i realized that the computer had frozen...i quickly shut it off and took the multiplier back to 3X...and booted up...
I could feel something was wrong cause the sound coming from the computer wasnt at all as loud as it was used to + the fan on the CPU didnt rotate...i got really scared...but then i remembered that ive forgot to plug the power on the HD back on
(had to remove it to get to JP3)..
pheew...=)

heh, any number of things can go wrong...heat is a big one. im my old PII 333 i tried OC'ing it to 400, but it would only do 300, 333, 500 winblows wouldnt boot at 500.
