I just discovered an alarming issue. When I look at my system info inside 3dMark2001, I'm told that my external clock is at 66MHz. In my CMOS settings, the clock is set at 133/133.

Manufacturer: AMD
Family: Palomino
Internal Clock: 1.49GHz
Internal Clock Maximum: 1.49GHz
External Clock: 66MHz
Socket Designation: Socket-A
Type: Central
Upgrade: LIF Socket
Capabilities: MMX, CMov, RDTSC, 3DNow!, Extended 3DNow!, SSE
Version: Model 6, Stepping 2
CPUID: 0x00000662

The reason I am looking is that when I compared with other benchmarks, my FSB shows 66 when others are at 133.
How can I confirm my board's FSB is running at 133?

I scored a 6580 at 1152x864x32, 32bit texture, FSAA off, ZBUFFER 32bit, D3D Pure Hardware T&L, Core/Memory at 227/501 . Is that even possible with the FSB running at 66MHz?

I played around with that ECS board for awhile, and got the same results. I was told at the time that it was a known bug with 3dmark 2001, so not to worry about it. Hopefully this was fixed in the SE edition.

I'm trying to upgrade to 3dmark2001 SE right now. I've also noticed that the results show I'm running DirectX 8.0, when I'm actually running 8.1 so hopefully they fixed that too.

Is that 6580 benchmark a good mark? I'll let you know if this SE version fixes the problem. And thank you for your help today. I really appreciate it GMAN.

Damn it! I'm still getting the same reported 66MHz on the FSB in 3DMark2001SE. At least the test results are accurately reporting DirectX 8.1 now, but the FSB speed is still incorrect.

I fired off an email at them, but who knows what the problem is...?

With the software, you're not the only one. It the combo of that board with 3dmark2001.

That score is decent. You can get it quite a bit higher with some tweaking.

Thanks, and tweak I shall.
Jesus! Some of the scores I compared to are in the 8000-9000 range! :Q I hit a 7200 with the default settings in 3dmark2001se and I was happy until I looked at the others.
I'll just keep playing.

LOL, it's just a benchmark... and a pretty synthetic one at that. Don't worry about how fast Mad Onion says your PC is, just play games!

Your board is running at 133MHz FSB. If it were at 66, your CPU would be at like 780MHz or something and 1) You wouldn't score higher than about 3000 and 2) Your computer probably would start crying or something
