So I'm planning on running an Intel 2.6C @ 3250MHz (250MHz FSB * 13) and my memory, Samsung PC3200, only runs stable up to 225MHz. What I want to know is, will I see better performance running 225MHz *13 (memory and FSB in sync) for 2925MHz or 250MHz * 13 (memory at 200MHz, out of sync with FSB) for 3250MHz? Obviously, I'm going to be losing 50MHz DDR for the memory speed, but will having the FSB and memory speeds in sync at a lower frequency result in better perforance over running the FSB and memory speeds out of sync?
The setup is going to be as follows:
Intel Pentium 4 2.6C
Abit IS7 (I865PE chipset)
2 x 512MB Samsung PC3200
