FSB and Memory bus

i have:
cpu: Athlon XP 1800+
ram XTREME CAS2 256Mb 333Mhz
mo Gigabyte GA-7VAX


can i operate the cpu on 266 Mhz fsb and the memory in 333Mhz ???

Yes, from the main BIOS menu, go to Frequency/Voltage Control. Next, set the DRAM Clock to 166, which equates to DDR333, then save the settings and exit.

Keep in mind that this puts the memory out-of-sync with the CPU and so the performance gains are not going to be perceptible in real-world usage. If you're looking for higher performance, it sounds like the latest VIA 4-in-1 4.45 "Hyperion" drivers do help, so consider downloading and installing them: www.via.com.tw
