FSB 211 on a Abit KR7A

You have probably seen this before, but we have managed to sqeeze my system pretty far. With a stick of Twinmos PC2100 we managed to hit an amazing 211 FSB, and the memory score wasn't that bad either.

Take a look at slapps.com

I would appreciate any feedback with tips on how to make it even higher.

jason112,
he....he....he... you ain't the only one who've reached that level of FSB. But of course... very good OC'ing of yours. Good job. There are others from hardocp forum did 215+mhz FSB on their KR7A with Kingmax PC2700s. I've been impressed.. I assume you did that on an Athlon XP. It's always good to lower the multi and up the FSB to death.. for exceptional performance.. like you have done.. 😀 You could never do that on the P4 with high multi. Some of the Duron(with late stepping) owners do 170- 180s+ mhz FSB on the Iwill XP333 or the Abit KR7A's. 😎 anyways, congrats.

Well as you can see if you look at the link to
slapps.com
and the small review we posted there you'll see that the cpu is an XP1800@1585MHz multiplier set at 7,5.

And as pointed out by MilkPowderR we have seen this high FSB's before but to be honest I have not seen it done with a PC2100 memry stick.

We are planning to test the mainboard again later, then hopefully with a
PC2700,PC3000 or even better one of the upcoming PC3300 sticks.

There is a guy on amdmb.com with an XP333-R and TwinMos PC2100 doing over 200 fsb. I think the chips were Hynix K.

I didn't see your link because your link didn't work. I tried to click it again today(03-31-02) and it worked. I see it now 😎

Could you run Sandra and tell us what your PCI bus is reading. I cannot believe that a hdd will run @ 52.75mhz PCI bus. I have a feeling that Abit has a 1/5 divider that implements itself above 166 or something like that, although they will not say so.

There will be an update later today or tomorrow due to higher results when the tweaking continued.
Be prepared to see some amazing memoryscores.(At least that's my opinion)
And yes I will try to remember the sisoft pci info.

Nice! Have only reached 160fsb with my XP1600+ and Kingston pc2100 Valueram at th least agressive settings. But still, it's air-cooled and no voltage-mods (don't know if you can do such things on my MSI K7T Pro2 RU).

Update!!

We managed to squeeze it even further, FSB is now at 213.

Take a look at page 2 and see some amazing memory scores.
And for you JustStarting: we have added the sisoft info you requested, enjoy.
