FS/FT people ... question about tracking # for USPS

No Lifer
well i purchased something off of ebay and the auction ended saturday. after emailing the guy back he finally responded to me this morning, 3 days later. i know i'm being a little skeptical, but i usually hear back from people w/in a few hours of emailng them.

now when he sent me my tracking # he gave me the # and said it was shipped out USPS w/insurance yesterday. the tracking # he gave me was 11 characters long, and began with the letters VD.

now i'm no expert, but using DC with USPS it has always been a 20 digit number, with no letters in it.
so should i be worried, or does this type of # come up w/USPS sometimes? also, when i entered it on the usps webpage, it said no package with that # was found yet, and he claims to have shipped it yesterday.

again i might be over reacting to this, but it just seems kinda sketchy, and the guy also has alot of positive feedback.

USPS has a crappy tracking service, they are usually a day or 2 late on everything.

But that tracking number is weird.

Try UPS's tracking? I've had several sellers mix up USPS and UPS before.

yea its not UPS either, i tried that as well. i think i'm going to just email him back and ask him politely about it one more time.

say bye bye to your money.

j/k...actually, why don't you try emailing the seller and ask him about the funky tracking #?
