I bought a Mobo / CPU / Case combo 2 months ago on the FS/FT forum. I have not been able to get the damn thing up and running properly. I have spent untold hours diagnosing the problem to no avail. I just had the PC into a shop and they diagnosed the problem as a bum Mobo. The mobo was unused when I bought it. What are my options?

I could return it to the original vendor, but I don't think they would accept it from me as I am not the original purchaser. Is the seller still responsible for the Mobo?

Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

I would contact the trader you got it from and ask nicely if he is able and or willing to help you get the board RMA'd, after 2 months though I'd say his obligation to help is long over, was he aware of the difficulties you've been having with it,how was the trade concluded ?

Two months is too long for a refund unless you had messaged the seller and they were just putting you off or ignoring you. The board could still be in warranty if it was unused, and you could get an RMA.

Work it out with your seller. He is under no obligation to do anything, but usually will help out in good faith.

Depending on the mb manufacturer, you might be able to just RMA it though them.

if he wants to keep his reputation, he'll probably make sure you get some help.

You shouldn't have a problem RMA'ing it yourself. Contact BioStar and tell them you bought it. I haven't been asked for a reciept yet and I've RMA'ed many things.

*Edit - I want Graves back ;)

well, have you been talking to the guy that sold it to you?

if you out of the blue tell him you are having problems two months after the sale, i don't think its the sellers reputation that is in question
