Well Fry's has gone aftersome who was giving them free advertising. I find it amusing that fry's would go to this length to do this but then Again I wouldn't. I know they took FRYE ELECTRONICS to court over their domain a year or so ago and FRYE has been around for 30-40 years! Just moved to minn in dec no fry's up here, was disappointed but now I don't care they don't care about customers. Never have the FRYSAD.com has moved the site so check it out. I used this site alot when I was IN san Diego because I Hated The UNION BAFFOON newspaper

Can you read?

This is the Hot Deals forum for you those that cannot read. Then again you don't know what I am saying anyway.

I believe they were looking for volunteers at one point to help maintain the site. Looks like the site was too much of a hassle to maintain so it was shut down. I don't blame them since hosting a website and updating it regularly is a lot more work than what most people think.

I'm not a lawyer but I like to study these situations very closely. According to my research if you refrain from mentioning the copywritten names and logos then you are in complete compliance with the law. Lets say instead of calling it Fry's electronics you define it as Store F. That is perfectly legal. The Domain name is another story. With the unclear laws against cybersqautting it is much to difficult for a website to defend themselves against any corporate machine. For this they simply change the domain name.

I wonder what bonehead at Fry's decided to kill a site that gave them free advertising :) They probably didn't even look at the site first, they just did a broad search for any domain name that contained "Fry" in it and sent a form letter to each one (i.e. ok #102 with fry in it is www.frenchfry.com -- lets sue them for cybersquatting!).

TTT

I feel that this is important. I see Fry's incompetent management starts from the top down. Killing a website that brings you major business is just a complete act of idiocy.

This sort of thing annoys me to no end. It's ludicrous that arbitrary policy could lead to such things as this. Wish I was a lawyer. Oh wait, no I don't.

Hmph.
