They can't get that digitally? No pre-download and just type in a code and it activates at the stroke of midnight or something? Blizzard is dropping the ball.

I happened to go by Fry's in Fountain Valley today and noticed they had a stage and large screen set up, apparently for the release of Cataclysm.

There are a line of campers assembled along the side of the building.

If you find yourself camping out overnight for a video game it may be time to overhaul your decision making process. :)

When I'm down and out I'll try to remember this thread so that even at my very worst I have more of a life than these people.

I spent about 5 months playing the living SHIT out of Star Wars Galaxies. Knew way way way too much about the game and made real american dollars from it. I could see doing it again if an MMORPG interested me like that.

Do you really give a fuck what other people do with their lives? If they weren't playing WOW, they'd be doing something else that completely didn't affect you.

Yeah so while he's in the cold buying his copy then rushing home to install, which means he will be lucky to be online by 1AM, there will be tons of people who could start playing at 12:01AM. He will already be behind the curve!

Digitial pre-downloaded pre-order is the only way to go. Unless you really want a collectors edition or special gift or something.

I keep looking at the guy in the first pics, and I keep cringing. It's like looking at a train wreck.

I work 3 blocks from that Fry's, I want to drive by and see the craziness. Although I'm pretty sure it'll be exactly like when I waited in line for the first WoW. :hmm:

Funny a guildie of mine who is a college professor who coaches a nationally ranked debate team is getting it at midnight and racing to be the first person to 85, hes very confident he can do it in 16 hours

I waited in line at midnight for TBC and WotLK. I didn't check the link but it's not like you have to "camp out."

I'm done now, though. I feel a little weird not being there tonight, I must admit. It was good times getting WotLK and unintentionally being server first to 80. Some good memories, mostly wasted time though. Tonight is the final adios to WoW.

Does making fun of people you don't know make you feel better about your shitty excuse for a life?

I mean, I hate WoW and people who play it, but you are just sad.

I am sorry, but I know of no way to make the :) that was in my original post any bigger so that when those wound as tight as you flash white with rage, they are still able to see it and understand that I was just poking a little fun and wasn't serious.

So glad I don't play that piece of shit game any more. I love that if I go to bed Monday night with 624 HP in my car, I can wake up Tuesday and Wednesday and it still has ... 624 HP... I love that I can go to bed and Monday night knowing that the square footage of my house won't change, or that I won't be demoted or inhibited in any way when I wake up Tuesday IRL and know that there isn't some hand in the sky micromanaging every aspect of my life and property week to week...

Sooooooo glad I don't care about WoW anymore.

Uh, what?

I played a Holy Paladin in hard core high end raiding for 4 years until they nerfed illumination the second time in 3.2. I didn't even wait for the patch, as soon as I read the patch notes, I was done cold turkey right then and there.

I'm just reflecting on how much nicer IRL is when you can count on certain things in your life not changing up from week to week at the whim of some over egotistical developer with a god complex who doesn't even pretend to give you the illusion of choice anymore. I can say, stack all HorsePower on my car instead of MPG and not worry about HP being "nerfed" in a patch every Tuesday :) IRL > *

yeah since wow reduced teh HP of the car and sq/ft of the house. it sucks my 500hp mustang now has 100hp and my 3k sq/ft house now has 900. such a bummer.

really if you weren't enjoying t hose while playing wow the odds on you enjoying them are just as likely.

See last post for clarification. Just ranting how I've learned to enjoy IRL more since IRL is a stable final build and I can count on things for more than a week :D

I don't have to wake up with a 106" screen being only 31" now because it was unfair to someone who had two 52" screens*eye roll wank wank*

*does the WoW free and staying that way for more than year dance*

<1 week goes by>

Oh wait on second thought pillow is too powerful, give that back.

Tomorrow night I'm going to play a table top RPG (RIFTS phaseworld) with IRL friends. During that time I will use my imagination and ingenuity to come up with creative ways to use my character's psionic powers to outfox our GM and his NPCs. I will participate in a well constructed story, written out by a friend. It will be so much more fun, engaging and rewarding than playing some pathetic click fest where you go down prescribed corridors and kill things over and over to just get more gold, xp and random items.
