Remember, even though the flyer is good through next Tuesday, the L.A. Times will only keep the ad online for 24 hours. And the O.C. Register hasn't posted their copy yet. If someone else doesn't beat me to the punch, I'll link that one later this morning.

I haven't been able to find anything similar for the San Jose Mercury News. It would be nice if we could put all the Fry's weekend ads in one thread. Unfortunately, the only ones I've found (so far) are the Times' and the Register's.

120GB is a lot of space :D And can anyone really tell the difference between 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM? I mean, I have a 2 7200RPM 80GB Seagate Barracuda's and 1 5400RPM 40GB Seagate Barracuda. Personally, I can not tell the difference.

you must have slow 7200 drives. ;)

but really...i bet you'll notice if you were to install your os onto that 5400. or even trying to access your 7200 drive then going to the 5400. you should notice a small delay in there.

hmm...have you defragged in awhile?

keeping on topic....i hope these deals at frys will apply everywhere. Ive been meaning to get a friend an mp3 player w/64megs. and for ~$47, that is HOT for me! thanks Dan

if you have 5200 mp3s and try to add all in winamp's playlist.. you'll notice the difference ;)

the soyo sy-p4s dragon lite w/ celeron 1700mhz is pretty good deal consider the soyo mb alone is over 100. wonder if no. cali has cheaper price. for so. cal, it's 139, maybe the no. cal will offer 129, anybody in no. cal confirm this. thanks.

the wd 120gig is good for backup, storage, etc., but if you do mp3, video editing and anything that demanding, the $80 for the maxtor 80gig 7200rpm is much better deal. and also, its udma 133.

My opinion is the 1.8A combo is paired with a crappy mobo and the 1.7 combo is paired with a POS CPU. I was thinking about buying the 1.7 combo, picking up a 1.6A or something and selling the 1.7, but I figured no one would want a 1.7. That, and shipping costs, listing fees, time, and effort would eat away any savings on the mobo.

awww, Fry's (this is for those of you in the real SoCal, SD :) )

120g hd is still $109

the mp3 player- good luck finding it, after trying the mp3 player section, company display, etc., etc., finally told
to try stereo in the FAR back end of the store, guy gave me a printout, they have 'em in the cage (*there are 2 mp3 player
sections, one in computers, one in the stereo/audio area behind dvd/vhs players)

also instead of the $30 hp usb printer, picked up the $50 epson stylus c40oux, probably paid too much :)

The Houston ad through 7/16 has the Soyo SY-4PS Dragon Lite/oem Celeron 1.7 for $139. There is also a $10 rebate form at Outpost valid for Fry's. The board is ~$100 w/shipping on pricewatch, so $129 seems pretty hot.
Anyone use this board? Is the onboard sound any good? I'm currently using AC97 sound and looking at soundcards for my P3, but an extra $70 would get me a new board and CPU. Of course, I'd need to get DDR ram and a fan, but Fry's has good deals on those this week as well.

Is the Fry's in Sacramento still selling the 120 GB WD for $109? And will it be the same price on the 23rd? Right now, I'm on the east coast, but on the 23rd I'm leaving for Cali to go to my sisters wedding. I'll be there for a week or so. Two of my sisters went in advance. If this deal isn't going to be on by the time I get there, I might as well get them to pick me up a couple HD's. =P

Any help would be appreciated! ^_^
Thanks in Advance..

Fry's in my area still had the drive a $109! :| I brought in the La Time printout to no avail. Even spoke to the big boss manager and he wouldn't do it! He did "thank" me for "bringing it to his attnetion" and took a copy of the ad to bring to corporate or something. I imagine he shredded it after I left.
