Frys Sales-person of the year...

My brother in-law went to frys because his video card was acting up and he was getting lines and pixelation while playing WoW on his 28'' lcd...

My bro in-law's english isn't 100%.... but the salesperson told him that he couldn't simply get a replacement video card, he would need to get a new motherboard... because as we all know, pci express is obsolete... Right ?

And in turn a new cpu to go with the new mobo, and new ram to go with that, of course!

I don't know any details but I'm guessing they sold him an i5/i7 setup +DDR3 ram + new video card when all he really needed was a replacement video card.

So, he walked out of there having dropped $600 on new parts when all he needed was a video card to run WoW.

I am impressed he found an employee to talk to!

Usually when I go to fry's I have to take a tranquilizer dart gun and blood hounds, because the employees scatter like dear when they see customers.

i had one salesperson at frys tell me that intel p6000 based laptops are obsolete and currently being phased out. and to buy the new i3 based laptop...where the only difference is the processor.

and the only differences between the processors is 300 mhz, self-overclocking, and hardware virtualization. and the p6000 is newer than the i3...

salespeople piss me off.
