Fry's Outpost Store Rating 4 out of 10 OMG!

I was about to order something and something told me to check their rating and I was shocked.

Anyone order from there before?

I preordered Fable and they shipped the day it was released and I got it three days later, no problems at all.

I've been buying from Outpost since 1996 and have no complaints. Back then they were "Cyberian Outpost". Their site isn't as easy to navigate anymore and sometimes has some really bizzare bugs.

i've bought from outpost like 3x in the past 3 months, no problems whatsoever.

they usually have alot of great deals on hd's, and ram.

I *tried* buying stuff from them but each time I do, they cancel my order because they "no longer have stock," even though at the time of order their website clearly shows the item in stock. This happens a lot with those ultra cheap CPU/mobo combos they have. If you want those, go to the store instead. I've yet to encounter "out of stock" when buying from the B&M store.

I have never ordered online but the local Fry's is frustrating to be sure.

They take returned items and just place them back on the shelf with a small discount.
I had that happen to me where the guy just taped it up and set it back on the shelf as we were grabbing the replacement card. I was like"Dude that doesn't work!".
He said he had to put it back and let it get returned again before he could send it off ot the manufacturer.

They do have a large local selection and it is kinda like window shopping nirvana.

But YMMV....

Never had a big problem with them, although if CompUSA gets a higher rating than some stores... you have to wonder on the accuracy of the rating... I refuse to buy anything from them again.

I will stick to Newegg, ComputerStop or Outpost/Frys

I ordered an mp3 player from them while it was in stock. A couple days later they email me saying that it's not in stock and that it is backordered. I search through their site and send the appropriate email to have it cancelled. A few weeks later I get an email saying they have shipped my mp3 player. I call and they say they will have the item returned and that my card should be credited back, but I still haven't seen a credit. I'll give them a few more days (it's been a week since they said it shipped) and then I'll put the screws to them if I have to.

i havent had problems with them but i've heard of them pulling the "bait and switch" often...never happened with me though.
