forgot to post this up. saw it in the LA Times today, might be hot for some of you. $10 more than the 2500 deal a few weeks back, but its faster.

i think this would have to be a tbred b actually , not sure if there are barton 2700s.

they also had a 80 gb seagatel 8mb drive for $39 after $50 MIR

These are tbreds so the cache is 256 instead of 512. The mb isn't that bad, but i would rather have a barton myself.😉

they also had a 80 gb western digital 8mb drive for $39 after $40 MIR

are you sure it was a WD drive? the one in out LA Times was a Seagate 80gb 8mb for $39.99 after $50 rebate. I know this because I bought one 😀

oppps, corrected everything i musta been on crack when i posted it.

if you arent o/cing and you wont be on this board, i guess i'd rather have a tbred b , you'd get more FPU performance since the clock is a bit higher.

The deal in Bay Area was 80Gb Seagate for $90 ($97 with tax) out the door, minus $50 rebate.

I'd better get the rebate as $97 is a bit expensive for 80Gb ATA100 (it's an 8Mb/7200rpm Baracuda), but $47 isn't bad.

There were a couple of 120Gb WD/Seagate deals too, but with $60 rebates, oh and a 250Gb for $199 no rebates IIRC.
