Just stopped by the Fry's and picked up the ECS combo + 2.0 GHz combo, but the gave me a 2.2 GHz.

Not sure, but maybe all fry's are doing this?

It is the retail box CPU.

I just got back from the Fry's in Sunnyvale (SF Bay Area). I wanted to buy the 2.4 GHz Panasonic phone (sku: 3303282), but all they had were 10 returned ones. That's typically a cold deal, especially if the peeps who returned it screwed up the intial charge of the phone's battery. I also bought the Canon Gloss paper for $2.99, which seems like a good deal (by the way, these are NOT marked $2.99 on the shelves ... the sku is 3438083). I had to get in line twice to buy these, since there is a limit of 2 packs per customer.

Sorry, you got the wrong combo.

While the ECS AMD motherboard is cheap and no-frills, the Athlon XP CPU literally blows any Celeron.
 
Yea I know.. the other ECS combo probably performs better, but I needed to build a very stable system.

Please don't reply by saying how stable the K7S5A is because I own one as well.
 
Cool.. they have the 2200 / FIC mb combo back! I missed out last week.

By the way... has anyone looked at that "Gem" flat panel (15"). I was pretty blown away at the image and price.
It looked as good as the damn Sony's. Check it out. Not great for gaming, but for office work and surfing, it looked damn nice. Text looked flawless, and the brightness was right on. I was thinking of returning my Samsung 15" for it.

And you think that ECS board that comes with the Celeron is gonna be more stable? 🙂
 
The 19" Kogi LCD for $500 AR didn't look too bad in store. I let it auto adjust, changed the font effect to ClearType, and it looked not bad.
