I test with cpu-z, it shows that my memory is runing at 400 MHz dual mode CL 2.5. Only one thing to be notified, fry's only allow one rebate for each customer/address, so buy separately, and send rebate separately.

Correction and translation; Don't do as I do and post suggestions that you try to deceive the rebate process, as you could be asked to "refrain" from posting on AT ever again.

However, the original deal post stands, I guess. I do hot have personal experience with K-Byte RAM but do have experience with their other memory offerings. Best bet is to be sure of what you buy. You can get some good deals with Fry's but I have found that you have to be careful of the sales on RAM. Check with your MB manufacturer as to the configuration of the module to be sure of compatibility. Otherwise, you might be very sorry. If you do this homework and find that it will work, you'd be foolish not to try it. Just a couple of cents worth.

who made you moderator? there is nothing fraudulent about buying two memory sticks and having the rebate forms go to two different addresses for different people--the form clearly states one rebate per person, per address. if i want to direct a rebate check to a third party for their gain, that is my business. if i wanted to have the rebate sent to george w. bush, 1600 pennsylvania ave, i could. what IS fraud is buying one memory stick and reproducing the UPC code or rebate and submitting multiple requests. so get off your high horse. btw, now i see how you got your number of posts so high--quintuple posting is neffing dude.

It has VT chips on it and says PC3200 right on the K-Byte stickers.
How many dimms do you have installed? If it's only 2 total, the SPD on one or both of the modules is set to PC2700.

it is 2 sticks of the k-byte pc3200 2 X 512mb and it is detected as PC2700 in my 400SC, so i guess i am the only one, does your ram have the "VT" chips too???

by the way both sticks have "VT" chips on them and both have stickers that say PC3200 and PC400 for that matter, but they are not identical sticks, 1 has different electroncs and stuff in different places then on the other.

I will have to try them seperately and see if it will detect 1 as PC3200 and the other as pc2700.

if i install each single stick it see's it as pc3200 cas2.5, but with both together it sloes down to PC2700.

the one stick in sandra says PC3200 cas2.5, the other is seen as pc3200 cas0, apparently the one stick SPD does not work right, maybe i will try an RMA it back to k-byte???
