Fry's has K-Byte 512MB PC3200 DDR CL 2.5 memory for $89.99 - $30 MIR = 59.99 AR. I got 2 of those, they work at dual mode flawlessly in my Dell 400SC. I test with cpu-z, it shows that my memory is runing at 400 MHz dual mode CL 2.5. Only one thing to be notified, fry's only allow one rebate for each customer/address, so buy separately, and send rebate separately.

Correction and translation; Don't do as I do and post suggestions that you try to deceive the rebate process, as you could be asked to "refrain" from posting on AT ever again.

However, the original deal post stands, I guess. I do hot have personal experience with K-Byte RAM but do have experience with their other memory offerings. Best bet is to be sure of what you buy. You can get some good deals with Fry's but I have found that you have to be careful of the sales on RAM. Check with your MB manufacturer as to the configuration of the module to be sure of compatibility. Otherwise, you might be very sorry. If you do this homework and find that it will work, you'd be foolish not to try it. Just a couple of cents worth.

Here is a link to (I think) the same thing at Outpost. The price is $62.99 AR, and the rebate form is now available.

Fixed Linky.

Couldn't get that link to work. Here's another try: Outpost Ram deal
BTW, if you click on the "Rebate Info" link on that page.

OK, where is the rebate form for the Outpost deal available from? I don't see a "Rebate Info" link anywhere.

If you took the time to look you would have seen the link right near the bottom. It says something to the effect, "Step 2, download your rebate info..."

Yikes! Talk about lag on your end or something...

Anyway, my experiece with K-Byte/Repton memory is not too good. Bought a 256MB PC133 SDR stick about a year and a half ago and I went through two sticks, which both were bad, before I got a good one. I wouldn't recommened them for server applications.

I'm looking again now and I still can't see a link to the rebate on the product page.

looks like they yanked the rebate form.

but if you put it in your cart, it say there is a rebate, but you can't get the form anymore.
