Excellent. It will still be about a two hour drive for me, but that's better than nothing. Sometimes I miss living in Castleton.

Anyone have an idea where? Isn't the old Incredible Universe/Auto Nation empty?
This is just okay for me. I get my stuff from Outpost basically next day. I live 1-1 1/2 hours from their Ohio warehouse. Now I might have to add sales tax. However we are in that area often and I have kids living in Fishers so...🙂😎

Heres my question....whats the big deal about Fry's anyway??? Isn't it just another/typical electronic like all the BB's and CC's that everyone already has??? If not, please explain 🙂

It's a BB's with hot deals (i.e. $50 athlon 1600 + mobo, no rebate, and other good deals all the time).

I live in Fishers and have done some researching and can't find anything about this.

What places (maybe BBB?) can I call to get more info?

Sounds like good news, hope it's soon.

Cool to see other posters from Fishers. It's a great place to live, but right now most of the hot computer deals are elseware.

What types of organizations in a city would be able to confirm that they are moving in, when, and where?

Sweet! To bad I am moving to NC in 2 weeks. I guess this will be incentive to come home more often. I would fly into Indy after all. 😀

Hey man, Tiger Direct just came to Raleigh! Not much of a consolation prize I know. Good for a Friday laugh though.

That would be a potential spot, but I'm not sure it's a very good location save for the fact you can see it from 69 - maybe it's just becuase auto nation didn't last long.
There is some space available near the Super Target at 116th & 69, I hope it ends up on 116th and not 96th (closer for me). I had no idea there were several anandtechers from Fishers - we need to unite to find the best Fishers hot deals! (Tuesday at Dicks bodacious brbq $2 sandwiches - they are good)

I'm not sure who we would contact in Fishers, but I can't wait for the day I can drive 5 minutes and get a real hot deal on a motherboard / cpu - ability to return it, no shipping costs, no waiting . . . Come on Frys!

Incredible Universe & Auto Nation were concepts that looked good on paper but never panned out. Frys sounds like a well run version of Incredible Universe.

Hey whats 10 blocks compared to Chicago or Calif. I am from Richmond but like I said have kids in Fortville and Fishers.... (Tuesday at Dicks bodacious brbq $2 sandwiches - they are good) Tell me more about this!

Man, I know if they are not in Nashville or Cincinnatti, then they will never be in Louisville or Lexington...
COME FRY'S GET IT TOGETHER!!!

YYYYYYYEEEESSSSSS!!!!

Location? Heck, who knows. The development around Indy is out of control.
Likely, it will be somewhere near the new Menards.
There is still some prime black soil there that hasn't been ruined yet.

I used to live in Fishers, and I had way too much disposable income and a computer hardware addiction when I lived there

Good. They seem to be moving farther and farther eastward. I'll be sharing in the Fry's goodness in 2039 at their rate of expansion, though.

To my old labmate................ tell me what ya want..... You'll get a box in the mail... well maybe pony express is more appropriate for you now............

I'm gonna miss all those Fed Ex boxes filling up my living room!

Hope they build in close to 96th and Keystone.... well, as near as Fishers can be. Love to do my 'pooter shopping on the way to the H-D dealership!

You can't. Fry's Electronics is privately owned by the 3 Fry brothers, and they have no intention of selling stock or going public... ever.

I'm expecting the Fry's to be somewhere around the WalMart/Meijer on 96th just east of I69. If somebody could give me some leads on where to ask around at, I'll do some investigative work to find out more precisely where they'll be! I just have no clue where to start looking...

Assuming this rumor is true, I'd agree with your guess for the location. They have been renovating the old, empty Incredible Universe/AutoNation building that's just NE of the 96th street/I-69 interchange. If I was a betting man, that's where I'd put my money. It's been an electronics store before, and there have been people working on it for weeks.

I'm not getting my hopes up until I see it, though-- this seems like too much wishful thinking without enough facts so far.

That would make the most sense, IMO. The only other place that's really booming right now is Avon. Either works for me; I'll probably be driving past it once or twice a week during work hours. 😀

They just opened their first East Coast store in Duluth, Georgia. Couldn't believe it! Duluth is at the edge of Atlanta's suburbia, not exactly a thriving metropolis. I'm originally from SoCal and it blows my mind that they picked this unremarkable suburb. Whatever, I'm not complaining!

Duluth is about an hour from the border of SC/NC/TN/AL

Does anybody work over by the old Incredible Universe location NE of 96th and I-69? I was on a contract job at a company near there when I noticed they were working on it, but I'm finished there and in a different location. If you're nearby during the day, somebody swing by and see if you can find any identifying marks, or, if you're really ambitious-- ask one of the workers if they know what's going in there. If it's Fry's, I will be a happy, happy dork. If not, I'll curse myself for buying yet another random internet forum rumor.
